Rahell Raza Shares the Overwhelming Evidence of the Existence of Radical Islam in her Muslim Religion and What Christians can do in the face of Radical Islam
There is a growing concern and threat of Radical Islam, not only throughout the world, but also in the West, in America. With each occurrence of a shooting happening, the threat is becoming more apparent. Where are the moderate Muslims who are speaking out against this? Raheel Raza is one of those speaking out. As a Sunni Muslim, she has been a continual voice seeking to raise the concern about the increasing dangers of Radical Islam. “When there is a disease or a virus, it can’t be treated unless you identify the problem. So we have to call it what it is; and it is, “violent radical extremism Islamism.” Along with the Clarion Project and a recent study, done by the Pew Research, she delivers the clear and bold facts that exist within Islam. One who has personally received death threats, she knows, all too well, this threat is very real.
Ironically enough, to mention its existence, or to simply attempt to have a conversation about this obvious reality, one is ridiculed or labeled as a racist. How does one attempt to resolve or dialogue about this? After the San Bernardino shooting, neighbors of the terrorists expressed their acknowledgement of suspicious activity, but why? According to reports, “...he didn’t want to be seen as racially profiling...” Raza brings to light the stinging question some are raising in response; “Did political correctness cost people their lives? It’s hard to say for sure; but we do know it’s become harder and harder to speak about these things without being told we’re racist.”
Raza breaks down the rising threat with the visual concept of three concentric rings: Violent Jihadists, Islamists, and Fundamentalists. Organizations such as ISIS and al-Qaeda would fall into this first classification of Violent Jihadists. “There are anywhere between 40,000 to 200,000 Muslims involved in fighting for ISIS across the world. That’s just ISIS; and it doesn’t include the 100’s of 1,000’s of Jihadists fighting for al-Qaeda, Hamas, Hezbollah, The Iranian Revolutionary Guard, and other groups.”
Next is the Islamists. “Islamists want many of the same things as the Jihadists; it’s just that their tactics differ. So instead of engaging in terror themselves, they use the political and cultural system to further their aims.” As she highlights and identifies past and present events, and organizations throughout the world, she brings to light what has been repeatedly been denied. Noteworthy mentions are the Muslim Brotherhood and Council on American-Islam Relations, (CAIR).
The outlying third circle, the Fundamentalists. Raza shares from an exhaustive report by Pew Research revealing, the demographics of Global Islam and the beliefs of these Fundamentalists. In this report, Muslims were interviewed from 39 countries. Here are just a few of the startling statistics:
§ 79-86% of Sharia supporting Muslims in Afghanistan, Egypt & Jordan, believe apostates should be executed
§ 27% is the Average of all Muslims polled believe apostates should be executed.
This 27% makes up approximately 237 million Muslims
§ 39% of all Muslims in the countries surveyed, believe that honor killings can be a justifiable punishment for a woman who has had pre or extra-marital sex
This 39% makes up more than 345 Million Muslims
§ 53% of Muslims surveyed said they want Sharia Law, or Islamic Law to be the law of the land in Muslim majority countries
Of this 53%, over 52% are in support of whippings and cutting
off of hands
This 52% makes up more than 281 million Muslims
Of the original 53%, 51% are in support of stoning if they are unfaithful to their spouses
This 51% makes over 289 million Muslims
These numbers and concerning statistics only continue. When Muslims in countries outside of the Middle East were polled, the concern continues.
These are the numbers and the facts. They cannot be denied. As the Church, how are we to respond. Enemies and persecution against the Church is nothing new.
