In the book of Matthew, it details an account that Jesus had with those who would often be considered His family while Jesus was ministering to others in a house. Picture this: a crowded house, Jesus sitting at a table, surrounded by attentive onlookers; then, a knock at the door. When the door opens, standing there was Jesus’ mother and brother asking for him. When Jesus was told who was waiting for Him outside, He simply replied as Matthew 12:48-50 states, “Who is my mother, and who are my brothers? Pointing to his disciples, he said, “Here are my mother and my brothers. For whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother.”

When we see others, regardless of race or ethnicity, that is our family; those are our brothers and sisters. If we only consider family what the world considers family, we will miss those that Jesus considers family. If the concept of family is painful to us, Jesus can deliver us and free us from that reality. Many are the provoking thoughts and strategies that are currently being carried out against Israel. In our current generation we are seeing this literally played on an international level. What many are not aware of is the technological advancements that are originating from the Israeli people.

When the city of Boston was shaken at the finish line of the Boston Marathon, after a bomb exploded, it was Israeli technology that was instrumental in identifying those involved with placing the bomb that will forever be marked in America’s history. As text messaging is a daily occurrence in our culture, some may not be aware of one of the original companies that started instant messaging (IMing): AOL. But, AOL wasn’t the first either. Where did they get the idea from, you guessed it, an Israeli product, “ICQ”, the world’s first instant messaging service.

The amazements continue on. When serial entrepreneur Jonathan Medved is contemplating investments in Israeli start-up companies, he doesn’t look at what University is on their resume; on the contrary, it is which Israeli Army Unit is on their resume. In fact it is the veterans of an Israeli intelligence unit, “8200” that is the breeding ground for many additional technological developments as well.

So much is being shared and promulgated through the mainstream media about the happenings in the world. So much, it’s often difficult to keep up with everything. With all of this information, who is covering the reality that Israel is receiving missile attacks from Gaza? CBN is reporting how Israel’s Prime Minister admonished the International community stating, “I have not heard anyone in the international community condemn this firing; neither has the U.N. said a word". It is time for the Church, to stand up in support of Israel. We can contact our leaders, our congressman, and our senators to voice for the critical need to support Israel.

What is an increasing concern is Iran’s ability to become nuclear. With the target date of June 30th being set as the date to have a resolution, the urgency is only intensifying. As Israel’s Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, has openly and consistently been against the development of Iran’s nuclear program, he is aware that others have described him as a “nuclear party pooper”. In response to these realities, Netanyahu has said, "I speak with quite a few of our neighbors, more than you think, and I want to tell you that nobody in this region believes this deal will block Iran's path to the bomb or, as I said, to many bombs,".

We cannot believe all of the press that is being broadcast to society, especially the media that is regarding the realities of Israel. As the ridicule and attacks against Israel are increasing throughout the world, we can see a stark contrast by simply looking at the realities of how Israel is literally blessing those who curse them. One particular industry to look at is the medical industry.

When Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords was shot in the head, at point blank range, she was rushed to the hospital. Reportedly, it was the bandages that were applied to the gunshot wound that saved her life. What most may not be aware of is the bandages that were used were developed in Israel. Throughout the world, we are aware of the continual research that is being done to combat the reality of cancer. In the lab rooms of Israel, scientists have pioneered the smell of canines that can detect cancer cells. Named, the “Nano Artificial Nose”, patients with cancer blow through the device, and in beginning clinical studies, it has resulted in an 86-97% accuracy rate.

This is just the beginning. Israeli scientists have also developed the camera, small enough to fit inside a pill that can take pictures of your inner organs, all to avoid surgery, and give doctors the eyes they need to make the needed decisions, without the use of a scalpel. Those who couldn’t walk are now walking with the “ReWalk”. Contrary to what the world is saying about Israel, Israel is truly blessing the world. There has been a continual progressive strategy that has been coming against Israel and the city of Jerusalem as its capital. CBN is reporting how a recent Supreme Court ruling called “Born in Jerusalem”, that would allow anyone born in Jerusalem to be a citizen of Israel. What is the significance of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel? The trail of these realities does not begin where the headlines start; we have to go all the way back to the Democratic National Convention of 2012.

The platform of a designated party sets the precedent for the direction that the administration will go for the duration that is in leadership. In the case of the 2012 DNC, it was decided that Jerusalem would not be considered the capital of Israel. That was, until former Governor Ted Strickland motioned to suspend the rules and to reverse the decision and recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s capital. Just expressing this wasn’t enough. It had to be voted on, with a 2/3 vote. How the people responded may shock you. But, with this reality, it helps connect the dots to what has taken place on the Supreme Court floor.

How can there be such an overt strategy of ideas and concepts that are against Israel? What some may not know is how Israel is impacting the nations of the world through the medical breakthroughs. Amidst such calamity and negative words that the world is promulgating, we can be greatly encouraged by hearing what the Lord is saying in regards to the days that are upon us. When one man was given a dream, he was shown a red parachute that was flapping violently in the high winds. As his sight shifted from the parachute to the ground, he saw a man holding on with all his might to the straps of the parachute, bracing himself knowing that the parachute was about to catapult him from the safety of the ground to the limitless skies. Another man was seated on the floor of a plane only to propel himself out, skydiving and soaring like Superman through the sky. Suddenly, there were words that brought a new direction, “Everything has changed. This is a new horizon.”

High School Student Suspended Three Times for Gospel Wins Court Case: First Amendment Freedom of Speech

There are many reasons that a student can face disciplinary action and be suspended from school; fighting, profanity, etc.; But, preaching? High school student, Michael Leal, has not only been suspended once, not twice, but three times from his high school for preaching and sharing tracts while at school. As Leal shares his own testimony, he reminds us of the powerful reality with these words, “Some people speak about other things, I speak about God. But, in the end, we’re all speaking and we all have that freedom of speech, and I think it’s important that we all have free speech.”

There is a tenacity that we must get in the face of opposition, regardless of what or who comes against us, when we are simply speaking the true words of Jesus, in love. If we are not speaking with the same driving force as Leal expresses, we have to ask ourselves, “What is keeping me from speaking?” “What am I afraid of?” Be greatly encouraged and stirred as you hear these important and provoking words from Leal, and so much more.
