John, Pat and Steve continue the encouraging, insightful and revealing conversation about a religious spirit. When looking at the book of Matthew, over 1/3 of this gospel detailed how Jesus encountered the Pharisees, how He responded, and how they responded to Him. Taking this into consideration, it is important to apply these realities in our own lives. Jesus encountered religious people and so will we. More importantly, we must ask ourselves the questions: Are we moving like the Pharisees? Are we responding to the words of Jesus like the Pharisees did? Are we responding to others like a Pharisee? It’s important to remember, “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.”-Ephesians 6:12. This is a spirit that is rooted in self-righteousness and pride. We can repent of it and be forgiven through the grace of God and the blood of Jesus Christ. In one moment, someone suffering from a religious spirit will feel they have no “self-worth” in the eyes of God and must “earn” their forgiveness by what they do; and then feel “superior” to other believers because they “know more” or put their confidence in their own self-righteousness. Both of these are expressions of a religious spirit. Jesus Christ came to bring freedom and set us free. Our righteousness only comes from Jesus Christ. Be encouraged and greatly informed as you learn what else entails a religious spirit, how it can manifest in our lives, and so much more. John, Pat and Steve have an encouraging conversation about Rick Joyner’s book, The Harvest. For a long time, parts of the Body of Christ have been praying for a Great Awakening to come again in the West, in America. What God is preparing to do across the Earth is greater than anything seen in the history of the church. It can be difficult to pray regarding such encouraging truths trying to imagine, “what does that even look like”. Rick Joyner’s prophetic words provide, “a grid”, for such events. “Meetings which begin spontaneously will stir entire cities, continuing until they fill the largest stadiums night after night. Previously popular sports events will be abandoned in many regions for lack of interest. “ In light of these encouraging images, it is important to remember, unlike past breakouts of the Holy Spirit, it will not be an individual man or woman leading this coming move of God, but the whole Body of Christ moving as God intended it to do. “Teenagers will be the backbone of the revival, and preteens will be some of the greatest evangelists…..some will actually take dominion over entire hospitals and mental institutions, healing every patient in them by laying hands on the building.”

In this great coming move of God, there will be great advancements of light as well as great advancements of darkness. It is important to remember that when there are victories for the Kingdom of God, Satan is not simply going to sit idly by and allow his kingdom to be lost. There will be great defeats but even greater victories for the Kingdom of God. Amidst this battle, there must be unity within the Body of Christ. Be greatly encouraged as you hear more details of the prophetic happenings that are to come to pass in the upcoming harvest, and so much more. We Can’t Afford to Be Naïve regarding ISIL; U.K. is Recognizing the True Threat and so should we in the U.S.

John, Pat and Steve continue the conversation regarding the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria, (ISIS, now ISIL). ISIS has taken control over oil fields in Iraq and selling the oil on the black market. In addition to this, they have received ransom money from the many kidnappings that have taken place at the hands of ISIS. Because of this, ISIS is now the most funded terrorist organization in the world. CBN reports that ISIS is growing in the amount of $2 Million a day with a combined network that is now $2 Billion. That is correction, Billion, with a B. Children are being beheaded, crucifixions are taking place and people are fleeing from the moving presence of this organization.

In a report from CBN, Great Britain’s Prime Minister David Cameron expressed, “ISIS is a greater and deeper threat to our security than we have known before.” Cameron continued with expressed importance of this issue to maintain liberty and heed the direction of security officers. In light of these responses in Great Britain, CBN shares President Barack Obama’s different response, “The suggestion seems to have been that we’re about to go, uh, full scale, uh, an elaborate strategy for defeating ISIL. I don’t want to put the cart before the horse. We don’t have a strategy yet.” While ISIS is continuing to make their intentions known, Jihad fighters are leaving their homelands to go travel to the Middle East and fight alongside ISIS. With passports in hand, they are then able to travel back home and wage Jihad, known as “homegrown Jihad”.

This is the time when America has the ability to respond unlike how Great Britain responded during the last 20-30 years in response to the growing concern of Radical Islam. If America does not pay attention, it will result in the present state of Great Britain in 5 years, or even sooner. There are situations in life that are bigger than us, bigger than our understanding, and bigger than our abilities. There are relationships in our lives that demand more than our capabilities. The list can go on and on. We were not meant to walk through these situations apart from the grace of God. Israel, Cease Fire for Now; Is this the Calm before the Storm? Will Radical Jihadist Unite to Come against Israel?

John, Pat, and Steve continue the conversation about Israel and Operation Protective Edge. Another cease fire has come about in the conflict. Reactions to the cease fire are having differing reactions. “54% of Israelis believe there was no clear winner after this summer’s war.” It is important to remember that we are in the midst of the eighteen month span of the 4 Blood Moons. In light of these events and the rising tragedies from ISIS, another terrorism group is on the scene as well, Boko Haram. Two-hundred girls were kidnapped by this terrorist organization. There have been actions to stop the intimidating and outright cruel acts of this organization. Stephen Davis, an amateur peacemaker, in his own words, has taken actions on his own in response to these atrocities. Because of his efforts, 4 of the kidnapped girls were able to find safety and be rescued. Multiple terrorist organizations are continuing to move and gain strength across the world. Every one of these would want to wipe Israel off of the map. As the church, we must continue to pray. We must intercede for the nation of Israel, for the people of Israel, and for the leadership of Israel. Religious Spirit: Uncovering, Exposing and Overcoming this Deceptive spirit

John, Pat, and Steve have an encouraging conversation about the truths and realities of a religious spirit. Often times, many have shared after walking with the Lord, it’s time to get into the “deeper things of God” in the letter to the churches written by Paul. We must not forget that there is nothing deeper than the letters in red, the words of Jesus. When looking at the gospels, in particular, the book of Matthew, over 1/3 of the encounters that Jesus had, were with Pharisees. Often times, we can read the words of Jesus and think about how applicable these teachings are to somebody else’s life, all the while forgetting to ask ourselves, “God are you speaking to me?” or “God, how does this apply to my life?” A religious spirit is so deceptively deceiving that it causes us to be blind to these realities in our own lives, and looking only in the lives of others. Regardless how the outside of our lives may appear to others, God sees our hearts.

A religious spirit has a focus upon the things of the law and the ability to simply observe and know the law. It’s important not to become the ones who know the scriptures that only apply to the law and then apply them to others. This is the critical and judgmental ways that the Pharisees walked in. We can either focus on the law, or we can focus on the finished work of Jesus Christ and the Cross. Be encouraged as you get an insightful understanding of what causes a religious spirit, how Jesus responded to it, and so much more.
