  • FSU Auburn BCS; Seconds Matter not Just in a Game but in Life
John and Pat discuss the FSU- AUBURN BCS Title game and that seconds matter when all you have is seconds. They discuss how this was a thrilling game. FSU, Florida State University, had an undefeated season and their quarterback was the recipient of the Heisman Trophy, played against a red hot Auburn University team who came off a very impressive victory against their longtime rivals the University of Alabama. They continued to discuss how Auburn was beating the favored FSU Seminoles by a large spread in the first quarter only to see FSU come back and pass them in score. Both teams went back and forth however they were playing against the clock. From the moment the game begins the time clock is set to go down to zero and when it does the game is over. Well with just about twenty seconds in the game FSU scored a touchdown to take the lead leaving very little time left for their opposing team the Auburn University to score again. The game was over Florida State University won the game and victory came down to seconds on a clock. Life is a lot like a football game you only have a specified amount of time to do what you have to do to win the game. They further discuss how each of our lives is coming to an end. We just don’t live forever on earth. The question we have to ask ourselves is what are we doing with the time we have left? Does our life just consist of stuff and things? They continued to share how we only pass through life once. A well-known missionary was asked whether he was concerned about wasting his life. The missionary responded that everyone wastes their life the question is are you wasting your life? At the end will you have any regrets for what you didn’t do for God? They challenge us to abide with God for six weeks and give everything we have for him.

Secretary of State John Kerry; Pushing Israel into No Win Deal?
LISTEN NOW! John and Pat discuss Secretary of State John Kerry pushing Israel into a no win deal? CBN News reports that “U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry left Israel on Monday but is expected back next week. His visits are part of a major U.S. effort to broker an agreement between Israelis and Palestinians. Former Israeli Ambassador to the U.S. Danny Ayalon told CBN News he believes the agreement would base a future Palestinian state on the West Bank including Jerusalem.
"I believe the deal that he offers is the '67 borders on the basis of '67 with swaps on a one-to-one ratio that would include Jerusalem as far as Kerry is concerned. This is what I believe. That would be for the Palestinians of Israel as a Jewish state," he said.” They continue to encourage us to stand with Israel and those ministries and organizations that support Israel as well. They discuss how any agreement that requires Israel to give up any land especially a land agreement that includes 1967 borders and essentially makes Israel’s border indefensible. They encourage us to keep our eyes on Israel. We are soon approaching the beginning of the first of the four blood moons NASA is predicting to come the first arriving on April 15, 2014. They always start with tears and end in joy. Pray for the peace of Jerusalem.
Third Great Awakening is Coming: Question is- Will You be in it, Will You Be Touched by it when God comes to your Region?
John and Pat discuss how a third great awakening is coming; the question is will you be in it and will you be touched by it when it comes to your region? They continued to discuss how Jesus was extremely popular even though that was not His goal or intention. Great crowds came to Him to see Him and to receive of His ministry yet Jesus’ hometown rejected Jesus’ ministry. Although they were amazed by His ministry they tried to discredit Him and took offense with Jesus. Jesus was completely amazed by their lack of faith. The Bible tells us the student is not above his master. If they treated Jesus that way we shouldn’t be surprised when they treat you the same or worse. The people in Jesus hometown had a perfect recipe and strategy for how not to welcome a move of God. They were prideful, critical, and judgmental of Jesus. They were even looking to discredit Jesus’ ministry. They were more willing to defend what they thought they knew instead of being humble and open to the Lord. What Jesus was doing did not fit there paradigm and their doctrine. They encourage us not to miss the move of God not to miss the Third Great Awakening because of having a pride in your heart and attempting to receive God in our heads and not in our spirit. Many believers say they want a move of God but are they willing to do what they have to do to receive one? God intended to touch Nazareth but Nazareth missed God. There have been believers in past moves of God that have criticized what God was doing and missed it. They encourage us to repent for any prideful and judgmental attitudes that would cause us to miss the heart of God. Dear God forgive me. Have your way in my life and in my city and in my region in Jesus name.
Saturate, Immerse, Soak – Called to Be People of His Presence
John and Pat discuss how the Church is called to be people of God’s presence. They continue to discuss how they have walked in a dark room before and although they could not see anyone with their natural eyes they felt the presence of someone else in the room. They continue to share how God’s presence is so much more than that. They share how God’s presence is absolutely wonderful and full of life. Regarding the presence of the Lord, Moses had to have it, at time priest couldn’t stand in it, in it there is fullness of joy, it’s the air angels breathe, it’s inviting, intoxicating and life transforming. They continue to share that out of everything God created He created humans with the amazing ability to receive His love and for us to love Him back. They share how Moses encountered God and His presence when he would meet with Him in Exodus 33. They continued to share how vs.11 states “The Lord would speak to Moses face to face, as one speaks to a friend. Then Moses would return to the camp, but his young aide Joshua son of Nun did not leave the tent.” Moses spoke with God face to face. God did not send his son to save us so that we can be “good” Christians but so that we can commune with God. We are called to abide with the Lord and engage Him in prayer which involves not just speaking but listening as well. They continued to share how we live in a time that has so many things competing for our attention; 24 hour news, the internet, TV, smart phones, tablets, social media and so much more yet God wants our attention. They continued to discuss and challenge us to be immersed, saturated and soaked in God, His presence and His word. A sponge is porous and by design made to soak up and contain the water it is dipped in. They encourage us not just tip our toes in the things of God or even settle to splash ourselves with God but to jump right in and soak in God. A dry sponge is useless but imagine what God can do with a sponge that has been soaking in Him. He can actually ring you out. Just like a cucumber goes through a pickling process that transforms it into a delicious pickle we too can experience such a transformation when we soak in God. There is a time to rest in His presence and there is time to stand and minister in His presence as Rick Joyner says in his book the Torch and the Sword. There is no intoxication like life itself, but remember that it is still intoxication. Many fall under even the slightest touch of His Spirit and can become drunk in the Spirit by just a taste of this. However, the priest had to learn how to stand and minister even the presence of His Glory. God’s people are called to be people of His presence.

Georgia Colder than Moscow: Is God speaking to Us?
LISTEN NOW! John and Pat discuss the recent weather patterns and how Georgia is colder than Moscow and the question they ask is; is God speaking to us? They discuss how a great majority of the country is experiencing a severe cold snap the like of which has not been experienced for many years. John mentions that when he moved from Florida he thought he left hurricanes behind him only to experience hurricane Sandy in NJ. Now that he is back in Florida he thought he was leaving the cold behind him and now he is experiencing 19 degree weather. According to CBN “More than 200 million Americans from Montana to Alabama are bundling up Tuesday as they face dangerously cold temperatures. This arctic blast is not just another winter storm - for many areas it's the coldest in 20 years.” They continued to share how John Paul Jackson prophesied the different weather patterns we would be experiencing in the multi-dimensional prophetic word called the “the perfect storm.” God is warning us to turn back to Him. At one point we need to recognize that God didn’t cause us to live a life that is filled with endless storms, chaos, financial collapses and in a perpetual state of destruction and calamity. We are called to be victorious in God although at times we will face challenging and difficult times this is an everyday normal. God allows trials in our lives that we may look and turn to Him. They encourage us to not to discredit the storms in your life. What is God saying through the situations going on through your life? Is it possible what you are doing is bringing the calamity to your life. They encourage us to respond to God to turn our hearts to him and to repent. God is getting your attention because all He wants is your heart.

Who’s Voice Will You Listen To
John and Pat discuss whose voice we will ultimately listen to. They continue to share a recent update regarding Christian athlete Tim Tebow’s new position. Tim Tebow, world famous for what has been called Tebowing for kneeling on one knee and praying on the football field after scoring a touchdown or after his team’s victory. They continued to discuss how this is Tim’s first season without playing in a National Football League. Tim has played for several teams and was most recently cut from the New England Patriots. They discuss Tim has accepted a position as a college sports analysis on ESPN for College football. “Charisma” magazine reports Tebow’s thoughts regarding his future “I have been training very hard over the course of the last few months—five days a week—and I feel like I’m the best that I’ve ever been as a quarterback right now and I hope I get the opportunity to show that,” he said in a conference call, according to “Sports Illustrated”. “But I'm also looking forward to being part of SEC Nation and part of ESPN.” Tim has not given up on his dream of becoming a NFL quarterback no matter how many voices say that he can’t. They share how this is impressive when considering the many voices that have spoken that he couldn’t. They share it is important whose voice we are listening who you are following. There are four voices that are constantly speaking the question is whose voice will we follow, satan’s voice, others voice, your own voice or God’s voice? They encourage us to be in agreement with God’s voice and follow what He tells us to do. Spend time with Jesus abide in His word and write down what He says. One word from God is better than a thousand words from others.

  • Ex Satanic Russian Hitman Finds Jesus
John and Pat discuss how an ex- satanic Russian hit man finds Jesus and his story reminds us that no one is unreachable in Christ. CBN News reports about a man named Gennady Terkun, a former Satanist and Russian hit man has been leading a church in a predominantly Muslim region. They continue to discuss how Gennady’s criminal activity eventually landed him in prison and four years after first hearing the gospel he gave his life to Jesus. They further discuss how so many times believers have been attacked by the enemy to give up believing for a lost friend or family member, resulting in accepting a lie as a fact that their loved one is lost forever. They encourage us not to lose hope. God is alive and well and he can save to the uttermost. They further discuss an account in Mark chapter 5 where a man who was demonized and possessed by a legion of demons was set free after he encountered the Lord. The man at one point was out of his mind and chained and after he encountered the Lord he was fully clothed and wanted to leave with Jesus. Jesus instructed the man to go back to his city and share with them what the Lord had done in his life. They continue to discuss the Lord’s power to transforms lives. Many people and programs boast of their transformational potential but nothing comes close to the transforming power of Jesus Christ. They further discuss how a new born baby, marriage, career, money, stuff, and things can remotely come close to transforming us the way God can. They encourage us to read a couple of their stories at meetmyfather.org and witness the power of God to transform a life forever.

  • Mayor Proclaims 2014 The YEAR of the BIBLE!
John and Pat discuss a recent proclamation made by Flower Mound, Texas, Mayor Tom Hayden when he proclaimed on December 16, 2013 at a city council meeting that 2014 is to be the “year of the Bible.” It has been reported by “The Blaze” that the mayor was nervous about doing this and that he has been thinking about it for two years. He said this was something he could not shake off and felt it was something he was supposed to do. The mayor said the he was first inspired about doing this when he heard a former outspoken Christian NFL player’s challenge when he said that God puts people in certain places to do certain things. Along with the proclamation the Mayor worked with pastors and citizens of Flower Mound to put together a website, “The Bible 2014” where all the citizens can read the same scriptures together for an entire year. They continue to applaud the mayor for his courageous bold stand and for believing what the Bible declares, that righteousness exalts a nation. They encourage us to understand the moment in which we live and how life is nothing but a vapor. They discuss how over the last 6,000 years many have come and gone and how we are all here on earth for such a short period of time and encourage us to use our influence for the cause of Christ. They encourage us to make 2014 the year of the Bible in our own lives and challenge us to commit to having an abiding relationship with Jesus Christ, reading daily His word and journaling what He shares with us. They encourage us to share this segment with the mayor of your city so they can do the same. They share for the renewed sense of hope and faith filled anticipation for a third great awakening to sweep across our country. The Bible consists of 66 different books written by 40 different authors inspired by the Holy Spirit over 1,500 years ago. They encourage us to read the Bible as well as ending Bible poverty all around the world and as of yet there are now close to 2,000 people groups who are need the Bible translated in the own native language. • God Himself is OUR SHIELD
John and Pat discuss how God Himself is our shield and how there is safety in Jesus. The Bible tells us in Proverbs 30:5 that “Every word of God is flawless; he is a shield to those who take refuge in him.” They continue to discuss how many people today have become more and more fretful over so many things ranging from terrorist attacks, sickness, stress and everything in between. They further discuss that God himself is our shield and continue to discuss the imagery of a shield and how God would describe Himself in such a way. When thinking about a shield they discuss how a shield is primarily a defensive weapon and it is designed to block and receive the swords and knives that would normally strike the person. They further discuss how God is so willing to get between us and the very thing that is heading directly to us aiming to do us harm. It is said that a boxer has a good chance of winning a match if he can avoid getting hit. Today many people and believers alike are getting bombarded on a daily basis and one of the main reasons is because they have stepped outside and away from God’s protection all the while they are quick to claim scriptures they don’t apply to their lives. They continue to discuss that just because a scripture is true doesn’t mean that it applies to everyone. Yes it’s true that an umbrella will keep you from getting wet but of course this applies to the one who actually opens up the umbrella. Yes it’s true that a coat will keep you warm but it keeps the person who puts on the coat warm. God’s word becomes true in your life when you have done two things; one accepting the God of the Bible and applying the truth in God’s word to your life. Put on Christ and make Him the Lord of your life. He desires to be your protector. Make Him the Lord of your life today.

Is Your Reputation in Tuned With God’s Reality? If not, Strengthen What Remains
John and Pat discuss whether your reputation is in tune with God’s reality of you and if not strengthen what remains. They continue to discuss how Francis Chan who was an invited speaker at International House of Prayer KC, One Thing conference shared a powerful word not just for those who gathered at the conference but the entire church at large. Francis shared the plumb line of truth. Francis shares many truths from God’s word but one in particular is found in Revelation 3:1-3 “…I know your deeds; you have a reputation of being alive, but you are dead. Wake up! Strengthen what remains and is about to die, for I have found your deeds unfinished in the sight of my God. Remember, therefore, what you have received and heard; hold it fast, and repent.” They continue to discuss the difference between having a reputation and what is reality. Reputation is what others perceive regarding your spiritual walk and reality is what God knows and if those two don’t match or are not in tune we need to repent and strengthen what remains. They further discuss whether the only time you pray, worship and read the Bible is when you are in a corporate gathering of believers. Our public worship gathering should only be reflective of our own daily individual encounters with God. We can only minister and give out of the overflow of our relationship with the Lord. The church should not be concerned with what others think regarding their spirituality but rather what God Himself knows to be true. Our value does not come from what others think about our walk with God but from God himself. It’s time to look deep within and examine our hearts. If our reality in God doesn’t match God’s reality repent, turn back to the Lord and strengthen what remains.

  • Stay Close to THE Shepherd
John and Pat discuss the importance of staying close to The Shepherd. They continue to discuss a story regarding a sheep known to the world as Shrek. Shrek has become well known because the sheep was found after it was hidden for six years. The remarkable thing is that when the sheep was found its fleece weighed 60 pounds 6 times the amount of the sheep’s’ fleece normally weighs. It is reported that at most 15 pounds would be the maximum weight of a sheep’s’ fleece. Once the sheep was found, Shrek’s, fleece was shaven in 28 minutes. They continued to discuss the similarities between Shrek and believers that wander away from Jesus, the good shepherd. Those who have accepted Jesus into their hearts, the sheep, are meant to be close to the shepherd, Jesus. The Bible tells us in Psalm 23:1-3 that The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake. They continue to discuss how many people and believers like to claim scriptures for themselves from the Bible even if they are not even following the Lord of the Bible. They discuss how yes it’s absolutely true that the Lord guides, restores, and leads his sheep but he guides, restores, and leads those who follow Him. Shrek the sheep is a perfect example of spiritual sheep that wander from the shepherd. The longer the sheep wander from the shepherd the heavier and heavier things get in their lives as well as a thick veil of deception. The devil comes to steal, kill, destroy and take advantage of the sheep that wander from the Lord. Matthew 11:28-30 states “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” God’s word is true however, we must apply God’s word to our life and we must come to him. They continue to encourage us to remain close to Jesus and warn us from wandering away from the Lord. This wandering only leads to death, why not choose to stay close.
