This is so exciting! We have been praying for years for the ending of abortion at the end of each VFNtv program and now the governor in Mississippi, Phil Bryant, has signed the most historic and toughest anti-abortion law in the history of America! The bill stops abortions after 15 weeks gestation. He says they are saving more of the unborn than any other state in America! He wants Mississippi to be the safest place in America for the unborn. In America we need to repent for the shedding of innocent blood, murdering babies. Since Roe V Wade there have been over 70 million abortions! Let the governor know that you stand with him and support him in this decision. Every state can make a decision. President Trump says that he wants each state to make their own decisions. Do you find yourself having less and less meaningful conversations although your social media is loaded with “friends”? Greg shares that he was at this really nice hotel sitting in the common room and this family was also sitting in the room, and they were all looking at their own mobile devices instead of enjoying each other. Cell phone companies know more about families than they know about each other! Technology is making people more selfish, and people are trying to find their self-worth by the number of followers and likes that they can get. People are creating an unrealistic life through their online presence which leads others to think that that is how their life really is when instead the reality is that most social media pictures are staged. Connections need to happen face to face! Real friends are important, Ecclesiastes 4:12 says, “Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.” Jesus called His disciples friends; God called Abraham his friend. We have been raised in a culture that one deserves a job versus working hard to get a job. When in a job interview you want to be interested in the interviewer not focused on yourself. Put your phone away and tell the interviewer that you are dependable and will show up on time. Reportedly a Fortune 100 company said their #1 reason employees are fired is because they can’t show up to work on time. To help with this it is a good practice to sleep for 7-8 hours a night which will help your brain get the rest it needs. Another thing you need to have is emotional intelligence which is defined as: the capacity to be aware of, control, and express one's emotions, and to handle interpersonal relationships judiciously and empathetically. Emotional intelligence is the key to both personal and professional success. Your boss doesn’t need to know everything about your personal life. When you come to work your boss expects you to work with a smile on your face. Just because no one else is doing their job doesn’t mean you should follow them. Ephesians 6:7 says, “Serve wholeheartedly, as if you were serving the Lord, not people.” You will stand out if you are doing your job and God will reward for doing that. Also Jesus asks us to go beyond what we are asked to do.
