If you've been listening to this show for a while, you’ll be aware that I have taken an unexpected break. Over the past few months, I’ve taken a lot of family time, as well as a lot of travel time for business. So today I wanted to talk you through what I’ve realised during this break from Podcasting for Entrepreneurs, and what we're planning to do going forward.
What You’ll Learn:
As entrepreneurs, it's important that from time to time we stop, take stock, evaluate, and course correct if need be. The result of this process for me is that I feel that the work on this show is done for now, and I’m going to focus on my new show. For you to take your podcasting journey on the next level, check out some of the numerous resources below or stay in touch on social media.
Resources:
When you get serious about launching your podcast, you might ask whether you should script your episodes. Today, I'm going to let you into my reasoning behind why I don't believe that it's a good idea.
What You’ll Learn:
Your podcast can become a very powerful front end of your business. After all, business is personal and we choose to spend money with people that we know, like and trust. What we don't trust is someone who doesn't trust their own words, their own knowledge and ability. Allow yourself to share and be real and honest, because that is what makes a podcast valuable for your listener.

Success is relative. With your podcast, it isn’t all about massive download numbers, but much more about how you are engaging and retaining your listeners, and how useful you are making the podcast for your business. So let’s discuss how you can track your podcast success.
What You’ll Learn:
What we track grows, so if you are not actively looking at the numbers behind your podcast in the same way you are looking at the profit in your business, you probably aren't going to grow. The right level of awareness is key to being able to make knowledgeable decisions.
Resources:
How can you make money from your podcast with merchandise, and is that the right decision for you?
What You’ll Learn:
After listening to this episode, I hope that you go out and multiply your branding, so you get much more visible and build this into your podcast promotion strategy.
Resources:
If you want your podcast to be a valuable asset for your business, you have to get intentional about opening yourself up to different possibilities for you to monetise your podcast. Here are some of the ways you can consider to start monetising your show.
What You’ll Learn:
For business and entrepreneurship, the best and most important thing is that you are promoting your own products and services. Talk about them and build your own funnel, above and beyond, before looking for sponsorship.
If you know that you want to get intentional about making money off your show, we have self-study training available inside my Podcast Profit Maker. Grab it now at www.annapn.co/profit.
Resources:
What is polarising content in a podcast and should you do it?
What You’ll Learn:
So is creating polarising content worth it? To gain respect and to have impact, you don't need to say things on a podcast that could get you in trouble and could massively devastate your business. However, if you want to do it, be aware that it is a tactic, so use it carefully and mindfully.

Resources:
Why your listeners are not coming back to listen to your show, and why your numbers might be dropping? This is something that even the most accomplished coaches who are podcasters are struggling with.
What You Will Learn In This Episode:
It's a good practice periodically to go back and listen to some of your own content with a pen in hand. If you think you're making some fundamental mistakes, or you're not even sure if you're making those mistakes, then come and check out The Podcast Growth Accelerator at www.annapn.co/growth.
Resources:
While I believe that having a quality microphone when you're podcasting is important, that doesn't always mean you have to be in an office or studio environment. Today, I'm going to run through some things that would improve your recordings on the phone as well as in an on-the-go setting, and still make sure that you have great quality.
What You Will Learn In This Episode:
- It is never enough to just record straight onto your phone if you're podcasting for business
- Why you need to have a couple of clip-on microphones in your bag
- Besides your computer, consider a handheld recorder as an on-the-go option
- How having a portable microphone stand can help you
If you've done all the hard work to attract listeners, you want to make sure that they stay and that they come back. Think about audio quality first, because a podcast is a powerful vehicle to bring, attract and retain your audience.

Trevor Coley, the founder and owner of Sontronics, gets behind the nitty gritty of why the audio quality of your show is super important.
What You Will Learn In This Episode:
- The most important things early stage podcasters need to know about a quality audio experience
- The mistakes that people make in sound editing
- The true mission behind the podcasts and microphones
It's become very easy for people to podcast with the rise of apps, but if the quality isn't good enough, people aren't going to stick around to hear your message. And that feels like a huge waste of time and a huge lack of possibility. Attitude towards quality is key.

This is an excerpt from an interview Chris Ducker, an expert business mentor, founder of Youpreneur and Virtual Staff Finder, originally gave for Entrepreneurs Get Visible. We talk about how his personal brand based podcast Youpreneur has affected his business - the highs, the lows, the do's and the don'ts.
What You Will Learn In This Episode:
- Should you go into podcasting if you are not tech savvy?
- What kind of relationships you can build through your podcast
- What possibilities a podcast can open for you if you are more a talker than a writer
People want to do business with other people that they truly know. More so than any other medium, podcasting offers just that as an opportunity.
