Your email welcome sequence is like the Swiss Army knife of digital marketing- versatile, effective, and 100% automated once it’s set up. In fact, having an active email subscriber platform and nurture sequence is KEY for business owners with a podcast.
Since there’s no direct link between your followers being podcast listeners and actually being able to sign up for your services, email marketing is the bridge between the content you’re creating and the service you want to sell. This episode is your one-stop shop to solving your content-to-sale gap! Here’s what she says about your choice to outsource:
"I know that I can and I'm choosing not to. So, who can I find that I can trust? That becomes the question." - Allea Grummert

While she decided on a pattern of 3 interviews to one solo show, the intention to present her knowledge as a concept rather than a how-to or instructional episode has been the biggest challenge. Here are a few questions she asks herself when creating solo episodes:
These questions will help you create content that establishes you as an expert and thought leader, rather than the how-to content that’s seemingly default for service providers.

Most of us aren’t like those “I published once and now I’m a millionaire” influencers. Jennifer Loehding shares openly about her 5+ year journey of starting a podcast as a passion project, realizing she needed some products or courses for people to buy, nearly burning out from 1:1 coaching, creating an ultra-high-ticket course without anything to warm up her audience, to starting a second show, putting her first show on hold, building her email list, and much more in this episode of Podcasting For Financial Professionals.
Although Jennifer is a life coach and her business may be significantly different from yours, don’t sleep on the opportunity to learn from her. She feels like her journey to having a successfully sponsored show that drives sales into all 3 of her offer tiers could have been shortened if she’d gotten the right advice earlier in her journey...which is why she’s sharing it with you!

"Building a business isn't about having everything perfect from the start; it's about starting with what you have and evolving as you learn." - Jennifer Loehding
Tips to apply to your podcast-production process today:
Embrace the Learning Experience: Things that don’t work aren’t “fails,” rather they redirect while teaching you a lesson. Having a learning experience vs failure mindset is crucial for both new and experienced podcasters in the ever-changing audio/video online marketing space.
Focus on Relationship-Building Above All Else: When you engage beyond the interview with your guests, you cultivate a professional network that will help grow your business in the long run. This applies when you engage thoughtfully with listeners/followers too, creating a community of dedicated supporters around your show.
Adapt with New Technology: Tech challenges can be overcome. Whether you turn to a friend, industry professional, or a YouTube video for instructions, keep an open mind to new user-friendly and AI-improved tools available rather than sticking to a difficult or drawn-out workflow.
Leverage Podcasting for Business Growth: When you integrate your podcast into broader business strategies, such as sponsorship packages or funnels leading to course sales, it becomes a powerful marketing arm that can drive revenue. What are offers or products you aren’t talking about enough on your show?
Embrace Authenticity Over Perfection: Nobody wants perfect – it's a complete turn-off. We all struggle with self-criticism and we all have verbal crutches and weird habits. When you focus on delivering genuine, helpful content despite those quirks, people are drawn to you and even come to love your flaws.

How are you utilizing your personal story to inspire and connect with your audience?
Most financial professionals get wrapped up in what they want to tell or teach and forget the power of a relatable, personal story. Leveraging not just news stories or clients’ stories, but your own personal experiences allows listeners to find similarities between you and them.
The connective thread in personal finance reduces the fear and other perceived barriers someone might feel as they search for a financial service provider.
Take Brittne Halford’s story for example. She’s a remarkable physician and financial coach who turned a daunting $131,000 student loan debt into a platform of empowerment for women in healthcare. Brittne's story is a beacon of hope, illustrating how she conquered her financial burdens in less than three years and founded More Joy, More Wealth, her financial coaching platform.
Through insightful anecdotes, Brittne helps healthcare professionals manage their personal finances well, resist lifestyle inflation, and focus on authentic happiness.
As you listen to my conversation with Brittne, I encourage you to consider how financial professionals (you) can craft engaging content through various types of stories that resonate with your audience. One tip Brittne shares is to research her competitors’ content to see what’s performing well so she can create he own content around those hot topics.

(09:03) Maximizing Time and Outsourcing Efficiency
(18:42) Navigating Entrepreneurial Journey and Time Management

"When you focus on the things that bring you joy—not the Joneses—then you're going to have enough, because you're not overspending due to boredom, loneliness, or guilt." - Brittne Halford
What can you apply to your own podcast?
Leverage Content Across Platforms: Focus on consistency and efficiency by streamlining the recording and editing process. Align your work across platforms like YouTube, podcasts, and social media to streamline efforts and maintain a cohesive brand. This advice applies to new and established podcasters considering how to best record the content once and reformat it to each platform’s specifications to maximize their efficiency, reach, and impact.
Outsourcing Tasks: A significant point discussed is the delegation of tasks that do not require personal involvement. For podcasters, this can mean outsourcing editing, social media management, or administrative tasks. This advice is particularly useful for established podcasters who might be overwhelmed with the operational aspects of their show.
Content Creation and Engagement Strategies: By researching competitor content, using trending audio, and focusing on relatable stories for your listeners, new podcasters will establish a strong foundation for content creation, while established podcasters will find opportunities to stay relevant and expand their existing strategies.
Batching Content: Recording several episodes in one day creates consistency and efficiency withing the recording and production process, but also provides the host freedom outside of that recording session to increase visibility and engagement. This strategy can help podcasters, both new and established, manage their time better and ensure a steady flow of content.
Authenticity and Vulnerability: Virginia Elder and Brittne discuss the power of showing vulnerability and authenticity in connecting with audiences. This is crucial for new podcasters to establish a genuine connection with listeners and for established ones to maintain and deepen that relationship.

As you develop personally and your business matures, you will inevitably come to need a rebrand of your online presence. None of us are the same as we were a few years ago – our interests have broadened, our expertise has deepened, and we’ve matured toward the version of ourselves we WANT to be, which also means the imagery and language we used around our business years ago doesn’t fit today’s version of us.

Rebranding your online presence can be intimidating, simply because there are so many social platforms, plus your website, YouTube, and, of course, the podcast platforms.
5 steps to a successful podcast rebrand:
This podcast is being rebranded from Reaching Abundance and the broader concept that all of us business owners are working toward our own definition of abundance to the much more specific, Podcasting for Financial Professionals. The new name of the show requires no explanation – the clarity is instant for anyone who listens, guests, or might be searching for guidance in the podcast space.
This is the level of clarity we all need, and I hope that by inviting you behind the scenes of my podcast rebrand, you’re encouraged as to what’s possible, relieved that you can execute a rebrand in phases, and excited to move forward with today’s version of you since you’re probably going to have to change a few things down the road anyway.

Podcasting for Financial Professionals is for advisors and financial business owners who believe their expertise deserves a bigger stage—but refuse to let content creation run their life.
Hosted by Virginia Elder, founder of Podcast Abundance, this show strips away hobby-level podcasting advice and focuses on what actually works for high-trust, regulated industries: clear strategy, compliant messaging, and sustainable production that drives authority and real business growth.
If you want a podcast that filters clients, builds trust at scale, and works quietly in the background while you run your firm, you’re in the right place.
