Compose bold, clear, mistake-free writing with Grammarly’s AI-powered writing assistant.
Grammarly now organizes your writing feedback by theme, so you can see how each change will help your readers better understand your message.
For me, I thought Microsoft Word would be good enough, but you will be amazed at all the things Grammarly finds AFTER you run it through Microsoft Word's spellcheck.
It integrates with Slack, Google docs, twitter, medium, and any other place you need to look professional.

Today I interview Brenden Mulligan from Podpage. I spoke about Podpage on episode 18, and for me, it is THE WAY to make a great-looking website for your podcast without having to go back to school to get your geek on. It's amazing and it just keeps getting better.
Brenden now has over 1000 podcasters in his Facebook group and they work together to provide feedback so Podpage is THE TOOL for creating a podcast website in just a few minutes.
In this episode, you will hear about NEW features added to the already impressive list of features. Such as:
Guest intake forms
Sponsors Listing
Comments
Donation widgets
More (many more) integrations
Improved Email Tools (Lead Magnets)
Improved Voicemail
Multiple Users and Multiple Podcasts
A Redesigned Dashboard for Ease of Use

Today we look at premium/bonus content which is a way for podcasters to monetize their podcast. I talk about this in the book Profit from Your Podcast.
Realistic Expectations
Keep in mind that 3-5% of your audience will join a premium program.
Fees
Apple will take 30%
Patreon takes 5-12% of your monthly revenue PLUS processing fees PLUS payout fees PLUS conversion fees (according to the Supercast website)
Supercast takes .59 per active user per month.
Clicks and Joining
With Patreon , it takes 10 clicks to sign up. You need to create a Patreon account. While you can turn on a private RSS feed for listeners/members they then have to MANUALLY subscribe to it in whatever app you use to listen to podcast. The alternative is people click to listen on the Patreon website, or in the Patreon app.
Apple makes it easy as long as you want to use Apple podcasts (which 75-80% of the people in Europe on an Android phone won't be able to).
With Supercast your listener clicks on a link and Supercast looks at their phone and suggests apps that are already on their phone (so no need to use a separate program).
Bundles
Apple allows you to make channels, and Supercast allows you to make bundles.
Stats
Supercast allows you to see how many downloads you get per episode, and who is an active listener and who is not. Patreon does not provide any stats on listener activity.
Customer Data
While Patreon and Supercast enable you to see and export customer data, Apple gives you zero access to YOUR CUSTOMER's data.
Integration
Supercast and Patreon can be linked using Podpage (see the episode about podpage). Both Supercast and Patreon integrate with Zapier.

I have a teepublic site at www.podcastclothes.com where I have shirts for my show, but also shirts I think the podcast community would enjoy. (Note to self pick a domain that is easy to pronounce).
I've heard of podcasters who have their audience design the shirt, then they vote on it, and the top shirt then become a "one time only" run (to put a little fear of missing out into the marketing mix) and the whole communities buys the shirt (and the artist gets a piece of the action).
I bought a tapestry that came out really well and then used it for my video background (it's light material, looks great, and wasn't hard to hang as it was light).

With events coming back into play, it's time to make sure you have business cards. When it comes to business cards, I like Moo.com (another company with a funny name)
A couple of quick tips:
Stick with a traditional size, but if you want it more "Modern" put a QR code on the back of the card for people who just want to scan your show
Don't buy a TON of podcasts. Yes, the cards are cheaper when you buy 1000 cards, but that is A LOT of cards. I would start with 200-300 cards.

I've used StickerMule for a few orders. I believe my favorite item is when I ordered Vynl letters for the back window of my car. I like sticker mule because they have free shipping, free online proofs, and fast turnaround.
They offer stickers, buttons, magnets, buttons, and more. A 2X2" sticker of your album artwork starts at $57 for 50 stickers. With events starting up again, you might want some swag for any people you meet at events.
Use the link https://supportthisshow.com/stickermule to get $10 off.

Recording your podcast is really only half the battle of podcasting. The other half is getting people to find it and getting people to like it. You need to catch their attention. You need a marketing team.
So you're not a marketing person, I get that. You just want to talk into the microphone, but that's just not going to do it. Just putting your podcast in a "if you build it, they will come" way is not going to do it.
I found a tool that if you go to supportthisshow.com/conversion, and there you will find that is the home of Jarvis.
Jarvis is basically artificial intelligence that goes out scours the globe and comes back with great copy for your website. Its back end is built on copywriting. And copywriting is where you write headlines and paragraphs that get people to do things.
And what do we want them to do? We want them to click play, we want them to join your membership or your Patreon, or whatever you're doing. Here are just some of the things I give an example.
One example is the AIDA framework, which means the attention the interest, the desire, and the action. So if you're writing a copy on trying to sell something, you could do that. There's one template called the product description. Another one's called content improver, a creative story blog post topic ideas.
How much is it? Well, they have a starter plan that starts at $29 a month that gives you 20,000 words, so you can generate short-form copy such as headlines, descriptions, and BIOS depending on how often you publish.
There's actually a seven-day money-back guarantee. So if you're a little nervous about this, you can check it out. Again, go to support this show.com slash conversion, but you can use this for so many things for finding ideas for your podcast than generating a headline for it, helping you write your show notes all there and it's like within minutes, within minutes, you just kind of go Oh, that looks good. That looks good. That looks good.
