Owen is pretty stressed before the Dodgers play the Nationals and he also has something to say about the sliding, the rule, and how he’s basically taking an opposite stance to Dave Cameron’s thinking about changing the slide rule.

In preparation for Cal Poly football hosting the Montana Grizzlies on Saturday afternoon, I had Shaun Rainey from ABC/FOX Montana on. Rainey, a California native, is the sideline reporter for Montana games and had some good insight on where Montana fans are on head coach Bob Stitt and what this season might look like for […]

At the ripe old age of 20, Chris Sylvester has taken over this year as Cal Poly’s play-by-play broadcaster. Chris joined the podcast over the phone to talk about his experience calling games in southern California and what being at Cal Poly means for him. You can find Chris Sylvester on twitter here.

On this sometimes rambling episode of the Podcast, David Kline joins Owen in the studio. David, a recent Cal Poly graduate, has done some work for that school’s broadcasts online and on ESPN Radio 1280 and has some pretty solid world soccer knowledge at the ready. Kline is a big soccer fan, and we go […]

After spending the school year as the play by play announcer for Cal State San Marcos and a Public Address announcer for UCSD sports, Seth Smith is spending the summer calling baseball games here in San Luis Obispo for the Blues. We talked a little Blues baseball, Seth’s history in the CCL, some UCSD sports, and […]

UC San Diego Senior Associate Athletic Director Ken Grosse joins me on the latest podcast. We talked about the Tritons’ upcoming Division I vote by the student body and what it would mean for the university and athletic department in La Jolla.

Owen sat down to chat with CSUN men’s basketball and UCR baseball play-by-play announcer Ghizal Hasan. Ghizal had some unique perspectives on the Big West, college sports, and doing play-by-play. He’s a fun follow on Twitter and I hope you enjoy the conversation as much as I did!

With the 2016 college baseball season approaching, I spent some time with Larry Lee. With some question-marks all over the field this year, there are oppotunities for young or inexperienced players to make a mark. The Alumni game is this Saturday and the season opener is less than two weeks away.

From time to time, Owen gets to co-host the Sports Bite on ESPN Radio 1280 The Ticket in San Luis Obispo. Last Thursday was one of those times. He talked about concussions and shared his concussion story, brought-in Mike Abram over the phone, and talked some Cal Poly basketball with the Tribune’s Lucas Clark.

Trent Schlom is all Southern California. The Orange County native went to Orange Lutheran High School, Chapman University, and is the play-by-play broadcaster for the Big West’s ESPN3 games. Still in his early 20’s Schlom’s Big West broadcasts on ESPN3 are as good as any, and you can tell by listening to the conversation just […]
