The Kingdom of God is scandalous because it turns our expectations of who is worthy, how we should live, and what God’s kingdom should look like completely upside down. Jesus chooses ordinary, unlikely, and imperfect people to represent Him, reminding us that there is nothing we have done or could do that makes us unworthy of being chosen. Everyone gets to play, because the Kingdom is not built around our talents, achievements, or perfection—it is built around saying yes to Jesus. And as people who have received that invitation, we are sent to share the good news with humility, dependence, authenticity, peace, and community. The Kingdom calls us to step beyond religious rules and self-sufficiency, to meet people where they are, and to become people who make God’s love accessible. The Kingdom of God is near, and we are invited not only to receive it, but to carry it to others.

The Kingdom of God reveals a King who relentlessly pursues the lost. Through the stories of the lost sheep, the lost coin, and the lost son, Jesus shows us that no person ever loses their value in God’s eyes. The Kingdom leaves the ninety-nine to search for the one, turns the house upside down to find what is lost, and runs toward the person who has wandered home. There is always pursuit, restoration, celebration, and an invitation to come into the Father’s joy. As people of the Kingdom, we are reminded not only that we are deeply loved and worth finding, but that we are called to join God in seeking out the “one” in our own lives - trusting that His love reaches further than we can see and that every lost person matters profoundly to Him.

The Kingdom of God is the priceless reality of God’s rule and reign breaking into our world through Jesus. While the Kingdom can sometimes seem small, quiet, or easy to miss, it continually grows, reaches further, and changes everything it touches. Through the parables of the hidden treasure and the pearl of great value, Jesus shows us that discovering the true worth of His Kingdom changes how we live: following Him is not about simply adding Jesus to our lives, but joyfully surrendering everything to come under His rule and reign. As we live in the tension of the Kingdom being “already” here but “not yet” here in fullness, we are invited to continually examine which kingdom we are living for and to recognise that nothing compares with the value of knowing Christ.

What if the Kingdom of God doesn’t always arrive with a bang? In this message we explore Jesus’ parables of the mustard seed and yeast, discovering that God often works in ways that are small, quiet, ordinary and easy to miss — yet His Kingdom is always moving, growing and transforming.

From personal transformation to the growth of our church and impact in our community, we’re reminded that just because we can’t see what God is doing doesn’t mean He isn’t at work. The invitation is to recognise the small seeds He has planted in us, trust the unseen work of His Kingdom, and faithfully partner with Him wherever we are.

The Kingdom of God is not simply a theological idea or a future destination - it is the good news that God’s reign has come near and continues to break into our world. As we explore what it means to live as people of the Kingdom, we are invited to see God as the faithful and loving King, to follow Jesus with wholehearted trust, and to embrace our calling as signs of His Kingdom in a broken world. Even as we live in the tension of the “already and not yet,” we can hold onto the hope that God is present, faithful, and able to break into any situation with His grace, power, and goodness.

In Deuteronomy 8, God repeatedly calls His people to remember His faithfulness - not just in seasons of hardship, but especially in times of blessing when it is easy to become self-sufficient and forget Him. Drawing together this passage with Jesus' parable of the ten virgins, this message explores what it means to cultivate a deep, personal relationship with God that endures through every season. As we remember His goodness, recognise His blessings today, faithfully walk the path before us, and pursue an intimate (ginosko) relationship with Christ, we keep our hearts prepared and our lamps full, ready for whatever lies ahead.

What does it really mean to fear the Lord? Far from being a call to live in terror, Scripture reveals the fear of the Lord as a life marked by awe, reverence, and joyful surrender before a holy God. As the foundation of wisdom and the gateway to understanding God's Kingdom, holy fear draws us into deeper intimacy with Jesus, frees us from the fears that control us, and anchors us in His perfect peace. Through the lens of Scripture, this message explores the different kinds of fear we experience and invites us to discover the beauty, freedom, and confidence found in living with a true fear of the Lord.

Today we celebrate 150 years of Christian witness at 5 Pulham Road, we reflected on the faithful generations who have gone before us, whose sacrifice, generosity, and obedience have made today’s ministry possible. From the Talent Initiative to future projects that create space for mission, we are reminded that the Church is never about preserving a building, but partnering with Jesus in His ongoing work. Though styles, people, and generations change, the message of Christ remains the same, and we are invited to continue this legacy by saying “yes” to His call, carrying His hope into our community, and faithfully building for those who will come after us.

Through the stories of the widow of Zarephath, the feeding of the five thousand, Gideon, and personal testimony, we are reminded that God’s power is most clearly displayed in our weakness. He rarely provides everything at once, but faithfully gives what we need each day as we continue to trust and obey Him. Whether we feel empty, inadequate, or at the end of our own resources, God simply asks for our “yes.” As we surrender what little we have into His hands, He transforms ordinary faith into extraordinary provision, revealing that His strength is made perfect in our weakness.

Generosity is not simply about finances, but about living open-handedly with everything God has entrusted to us. Through the Parable of the Talents and the Widow’s Offering, we are challenged to see ourselves not as owners, but as stewards, called to faithfully participate in the mission of God. As a church family, we celebrate God’s faithfulness, recognise the sacrifices of those who have gone before us, and consider how we might continue building spaces of hospitality, worship, and care for future generations. Whether we have much or little, generosity becomes an act of trust, obedience, and partnership in the kingdom of God.
