Each year, the United States Marine Band does a march madness style bracket challenge of marches. This year, the bracket is all made up of 32 Sousa marches. In this podcast, I made Scout Springgate listen to the marches (most of which he doesn't know) and made him pick his picks, while I made my picks in this episode.

In this fourth podcast on my favorite composer, John Philip Sousa, I talk to Dr. Patrick Warfield, music professor at the University of Maryland, about his Sousa research including his book "Making the March King," which explores Sousa's early career.
