The show had been subject to a 30-day windowing trial for the past 18 months, with the newest episodes only available on BBC Sounds. The bad news: that was a mistake, we‚Äôre told. The good news: the show now only has a 7-day window.

These features are available in most podcast players, but requires creators to manually add these chapters when publishing. The app also has a paid ad-skipping function.
              • In a masterful tease, Jeremy Enns of the Scrappy Podcasting Newsletter suggests that a small tweak of podcast artwork more than doubled its downloads. One reason might be that they replaced the word ‚Äúpodcast‚ÄĚ in the graphic, perhaps... because you shouldn‚Äôt do that, we reckon.

                    • Diggnation is back! One of the most famous podcasts from 2005-2011, it's hosted on Transistor; co-founder of Transistor, Justin Jackson, says it's hard to overstate Diggnation's impact on the podcasting world.
                    • Storming the Field is new today from FOX Weather - it's on TV between 11-11.30pm ET as well as being a podcast.                           • Missing the itunes:duration tag from your RSS feed? PodcastAddict, as one example app, will make a MediaMetadataRetriever request for your audio file to learn how long the episode is. It should make a range request (apparently a 65kB chunk); but in some statistics tools, that request may appear as a ‚Äúdownload‚ÄĚ. tl;dr: ensure the duration is in your feed, for the most accurate download stats.
