In this episode, I sit down with Michael Peason an insurance risk advisor with The Baldwin Group. The conversation centers around what it takes to compete and succeed at the highest levels. From a small-town upbringing in Seffner to Saturdays in The Swamp and Sundays in the NFL, Mike shares lessons learned from championship-caliber programs, the challenges of transitioning from professional sports into business, and the mindset necessary to thrive long after the cheering stops.
After graduating from Armwood High School, Mike went on to become a consensus All-American offensive tackle at the University of Florida, earning First-Team All-SEC honors and later induction into the University of Florida Athletic Hall of Fame. After being selected in the second round of the NFL Draft by the Jacksonville Jaguars, Mike went on to start 33 games during his professional football career.
Today, Mike has successfully transitioned from elite athletics to elite business performance as an insurance risk advisor with The Baldwin Group in Tampa, helping businesses navigate complex risk management challenges and protect what matters most.
Whether you're a sports fan, business leader, entrepreneur, or someone navigating your own career transition, Mike's story offers valuable lessons about reinvention, perseverance, and finding success beyond the game.
