PodQuest

This week on PodQuest we’re changing things up! We’ve done over 200 episodes over the course of nearly 5 years. In those 5 years we’ve adjusted things slightly into a fairly recognizable format that a lot of other gaming / nerd related podcasts use. It was starting to feel a little stale for us though, so we decided to shake things up a bit. We get into it in the show, but expect us to flow between News items and what we did a bit looser. We’ll be weaving in and out of the segments rather than having very strict “Here’s an hour of news” and “Here’s an hour of what we did”. We’re also looking to curate the news a bit more, big stories and things we’re passionate about will be our goals going forward. No more fluff just to fill out the segment.

Basically the TL;DR the show format is going to be evolving over the coming weeks and months and we hope you stick around to see (or hear) what we have planned! And of course send us your feed back to the address below!

Now with that out of the way, we have the good stuff to talk about! Nintendo had a pretty hefty direct this week where they announced Game of the Year 2019, Super Mario Maker 2 along with a bunch of other cool stuff. Like Tetris 99, or as I like to call it 99 Tetriminos fall to an island. Drootin and Walnut also go over DnD including the dungeon crafting of their recent campaign. Plus a bunch of other cool stuff, including some interesting anniversaries!

This week on PodQuest we sit down to discuss the recent Anthem Demo, the unexpected release of a new Respawn game called Apex Legends, and the fact that Microsoft is looking to incorporate Xbox Live into other platforms. Aside from all that there’s plenty more including talk of a Lost reboot, Dr. Mario is seeing patients soon on Mobile devices, and Boruto has been pretty good.

This week on PodQuest, Chris and Drootin are joined by their wives, Erica and Sara to talk about some of the recent Oscar nominations, the price drop for Hulu, DCs movie universe, and how good Dragon Ball Super Broly is performing at the US box office. After that we dive into things like Red Dead Redemption 2, Kingdom Hearts, Super Mario Brothers 3, Dead Cells, and of course Chris went and saw the previously mentioned Dragon Ball movie and quite enjoyed it. All that and more on this weeks episode!

This week on PodQuest we have almost no news to discuss so it’s all about what we’ve been up to. Which turns we watched a lot of movies. Chris went out and saw Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, and Bumblebee while Walnut watched Bandersnatch, the docuseries Dogs, and Droo continued playing Dead Cells. We also check in on Naruto, Fairy Tail, Valkyria Chronicles 4, and Bayonetta.

On this episode of PodQuest Chris sits down to chat with returning guest James Maddox and artist David Stoll about their Webtoons comic series Metaphorical HER. We chat about Webtoons as a platform, what Metaphorical HER is about, the best parts of writing this type of story as well as what conventions are like from the different perspectives.

Metaphorical HER is up to episode 7 (it’s a comic though I swear!) with new episodes releasing every Saturday (Friday at Midnight!). You can find it by Googling Metaphorical HER or by searching it on the Webtoons app or webpage. I’ve also included it below!
