Podside Picnic

It's that time again - time to unlock the next step in our journey through the Year of the New Sun.

Just as you can't read a Gene Wolfe story, only re-read it, so we hope it goes with podcasts.

Welcome to the Year of the New Sun! Join us in our read-along of chapters I - X of The Citadel of the Autarch. We talk about Severian's journey beyond the gates of Nessus, and if you'd like to continue the discussion consider joining our Podside Picnic discord.

We return to Graveside to talk about the eerie little game, Inscryption. Part CCG, part rogue-lite, part point-and-click puzzle game, it's truly a singular game - but one that's best played in a remote cabin, out in the woods. Let us give you the directions to get there. . .

For our next Graveside offering, we discuss Stuart Gordon's From Beyond (1986). Prepare as we peer past the veil and live through the original gooped-up experience.

For our next Graveside Picnic morsel, we sample the late horror master Peter Straub's Pork Pie Hat (from his collection, Interior Darkness). Part a coming of age tale, part bloody family drama, all of it a horror of family secrets that dare not be uncovered.

Everyone says they love when their favorite stories come to life - at least until those stories try to end the world. For this Graveside episode, we're watching the last of John Carpenter's apocalypse trilogy, In the Mouth of Madness (1994). Do you read Sutter Cane?

Mattie returns to the Graveside to talk about three stories from Livia Llewellyn's collection, Furnace (Yours Is the Right to Begin, The Last, Clean, Bright Summer and and Love shall have no Dominion)

We've unlocked the crypt so our first Graveside Picnic episode can shamble across the landscape. . . FREE

Emma Berquist returns to talk about John Carpenter's absolute classic, The Thing. Come for the isolation, deadly cold, and paranoia - stay for the body horror!

Welcome to the Year of the New Sun! Join us in our read-along of chapters XXVI - XXXVIII of The Sword of the Lictor. Listen as we talk about Severian's journey beyond the gates of Nessus, and if you'd like to continue the discussion consider joining our Podside Picnic discord.
