In the third episode of season 12 of Podward State, hosts Ally Eaton and Mikey DeAngelis were joined by Donald P. Bellisario College of Communications Dean Marie Hardin.

Before jumping into the interview, Keeley Lamm, Ryan Smith, and Hannah Guidotti dove into Happy Valley headlines including the upcoming Movin’ On lineup in State College, the Mac ‘N’ Cheese festival, and more.

Then in the interview, Hardin, the dean of the communications college for 11 years, chatted about leading the naming and rebranding of the Bellisario College after securing a $30 million gift from Penn State alumnus and television producer Donald Bellisario.

Following her tenure at Penn State beginning as an assistant professor to leading the largest accredited mass communications program in the country, Hardin accepted a role as the 
10th president of Quinnipiac University.

Before she heads to Connecticut for her new role, we caught up with Hardin about her start in journalism, her favorite memories with Bellisario College students, and New Haven pizza.

In the second episode of season 12 of Podward State, hosts Michael Siroty and Keeley Lamm were joined by Penn State hoops’ highest-ranked recruit in program history, Kayden Mingo. 

Mingo, a Long Island, New York, native and four-star combo guard committed to Mike Rhoades and the Nittany Lions in November 2024.

Mingo chatted about growing up and shooting hoops with his brother, a typical day in the life, and aspirations for his time at Penn State — highlighted by Big Ten Freshman of the Year honors and a national championship. 

To wrap up the episode, Siroty and Lamm were joined by Podward State special guest Kyra Birmingham for some typical pod banter.

On the season 12 premiere of Podward State, hosts Hailey Stutzman, Charlie Pegler, and Keeley Lamm were joined by State College Mayor Ezra Nanes. Mayor Nanes, the pod’s first-ever, three-time Friend of the Show, joined Podward State in the studio to kick off the season.

In the second episode of season 11 of Podward State, hosts Hailey Stutzman, Ryan Smith, and Ally Eaton caught up with Best Friend of the Show Phia Gladieux after her experience in the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris with USA Hockey.

To kick things off, Charlie Pegler, Slaughter Joseph, and Michael Siroty discussed headlines including Penn State football defensive tackle De’Andre Cook’s lawsuit, the results of THON’s Dream Forward campaign, the prospect of hosting a College Football Playoff game at Beaver Stadium, and more.
