Jesus appears to his disciples for the 3rd time since his ressurection and performs a great miracle. Interestingly, we note that Jesus commands the disciples to cast their net into a certain part of the waters and thereby caught fish beyond their wildest dreams. When we listen to Jesus, his love and grace shines through in our lives. We pray today for the grace to be able to listen attentively and follow the commands of God in our lives everyday. Amen.

In today's gospel reading, Jesus tells the story of the unproductive Fig tree. Out of His love and compassion asks for more time to change our ways and follow in his path in order to bear good fruit. 

But we must allow ourselves to be pruned. We must also allow the soil to be fertilized and cultivated in a variety of ways. Though Jesus is the Gardener of our lives, it’s also fair to say that we are the gardeners in the sense that we must cooperate with our Lord, relying upon the supernatural resources of the Creator to ensure the healthy growth of our spiritual lives so that the good fruit of virtue may be born in our lives.

Today in the gospel according to Luke, Jesus gives us the Beatitudes - "the to-be-attitudes", the attitudes we need to adopt to be Christ-like. Let us reflect upon them today and remind ourselves of the message they carry and therefore apply these in our lives.
