Episode 81: The exorbitant eighty-first episode of the PokeProblemsPodcast! This week the Wolf Doctor and Miz Sylver talk news. The most recent global mission in Pokemon Sun and Moon was a success! Episode 79: The singular seventy-ninth episode of the PokeProblemsPodcast! Tonight, we have a special guest! Maitland Hemby also known as Follow @androidqueen. Maitland is a friend and classmate of The Wolf Doctor and Miz Sylver who is a Senior Gameplay Engineer at Arkane Studios in the Austin office. She's worked at several other game studios including Harmonix, BioWare, and Edge of Reality. She talks about how she got into games, the ups and downs of being in the industry, and her favorite things she made for Prey. We also get her advice for aspiring game developers, which does include moving to Austin. Her Austin area gaming pick is Juegos Rancheros indie gaming meet-ups. Has-Been Heroes just got a sweet quality update, fixing bugs and adding effects and background text!The upcoming-this-summer Namco Museum for the Switch will include Pac-Mac Vs., the insane game where one player plays Pac-Man while up to three other players play as ghosts! Episode 76: the satisfying seventy=sixth episode of the PokeProblemsPodcast! This week we have two very special guests! Lance and Clint Trahan of Duck Block Games! September 22nd will see two Pokemon items, release of Pokemon Gold and Silver for the virtual console, and the release of Pokken Tournament DX for the Switch! November 17th will be the debut of the new Alolan 3DS games, Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon. Pokemon GO is getting a big update June 13th, including and event with increased appearance of fire and ice pokemon, extra XP for ball throwing skills, discounts on lucky eggs, and an unknown update to gyms that will see them out of commission! The biggest excitement is the first ever ticketed Pokemon Go live event on July 22, in Chicago's Grant Park! Tickets will go on sale June 19th at 1 pm EST. Details are scant at the moment, but I am sure it's going to be popular! In addition, from the press release, "European Trainers can look forward to Pokémon GO celebrations hosted across the continent from June through September in partnership with Unibail-Rodamco shopping centers. We'll be posting a complete schedule for these events very soon. Also, The Pokémon Company is organizing “Pikachu Outbreak”, a Pokémon event in Yokohama, Japan, in August where they’re exploring a unique Pokémon GO experience." Reminder: PAX West is September 1-4. Episode 75: The stunning seventy-fifth episode of the PokeProblemsPodcast. This week, we have an incredible special guest, the amazing writer Jean Rabe! Jean started off in journalism, majoring in it at Northern Illinois University. After several years covering news at newspapers in the Midwest, she applied to work at TSR (now part of Wizards of the Coast) as a coordinator for the RPGA (which has now evolved into the D&D Adventurers League). Inspired by authors such as George R.R. Martin (particularly the book Fevre Dream), Jean always wrote fiction for fun. Her first chance to publish came when TSR published her novel Red Magic, launching her career as a fantasy author. Her favorite Dragonlance books that she's written are The Stonetellers series. Jean talks about her process, the differences between writing fantasy and crime fiction, the importance of participating in blogs and newsletters (Jean maintains a personal blog, participates in The LadyKillers blog, and does a newsletter that you can sign up for on her blog), and so much more. Her latest book, The Dead of Winter: A Piper Blackwell Mystery is available on Amazon, with the follow-up novel The Dead of Night due out from her publisher Imajin Books September 1st! Jean's got a story in the recently released anthology Trials and Tribulations if you are looking to try out her fantasy work. Look for "The Bone Tapestry", a thriller set in Italy, soon!
