The shooting happened around 2 p.m. on I-65 between Harding Place and Old Hickory Boulevard. Metro Nashville Police spokesman Don Aaron said a Tennessee Highway Patrol trooper responded to a man sitting on a guardrail on the side of the interstate and offered him a ride home.The 37-year-old man, later identified as Landon Eastep, pushed away from the THP trooper and was observed to be armed with the box cutter.
