As a proud multiracial country, the existence of racism in such a fundamental aspect of life is quite disappointing. Although the principle of equality is included in the Malaysian constitution, the absence of laws against racial discrimination makes it easy for landlords to discriminate against certain races. This is felt most by the Indians as property owners run ads emphasizing "Chinese Only" or "Muslim Only".
