A politically intelligent business man or woman should have a network of relationships that are fruitful, thus giving him/ her more access to resources and support. Understanding people's cultures and connecting with them at their level by being empathetic and being outstanding listeners to their wants and needs. A leader must be a team player that would work with others to develop and establish connections and relationships.
