This week I share my opinions on the hit Netflix documentary The Pharmacist. Some people might have seen a simple man on a mission to redeem his son, I saw a lot of things that have changed or need to be changed in healthcare to help make sure instances like this rarely or never happen again.

In this episode, I sit down with Sue Paul to discuss why pharmacists need to be reimbursed for deprescribing medications for patients. Sue believes this, along with face to face MTMs, can help drastically reduce the amount of pharmacy waste and overprescribing of medications.

On this episode I sat down with Dr. Victoria DiNardi to discuss her role as a pharmacy manager of a medical marijuana dispensary. Dr. DiNardi shares some of her thoughts and what she has seen in practice, as well as how the current medical marijuana industry works. This is a great and open discussion about the benefits and issues facing marijuana in the US as a whole and from a pharmacist's standpoint.

On this episode, Dr. Devin Barlowe joins me in discussing a recent post she had that went viral about the lack of breaks many pharmacists get while working in your neighborhood pharmacy. We also discuss some of the laws around those breaks, staffing and what advice we'd give to those who have to deal with some of the issues facing community pharmacists.

Special Christmas episode! It's my naughty or nice list where I dive into who I think was naughty or nice leading up to Christmas in the world of pharmacy and politics, with a few surprises thrown in.

On this episode, I sit down for a conversation with Dr. Chara Reid-Reed and discuss what it's like to make major career changes and why to make them. We also discuss some of the PBM practices that have hurt pharmacies around the country and what pharmacy practice sites like hers are doing to help make a difference in patient lives. This might not be the most "political" episode, but it is a great discussion around a lot of hot button issues currently effecting pharmacies and pharmacists.

This episode I had the pleasure of discussing some things that may be holding women back in pharmacy with Erin L. Albert of the Edutainer Podcast. Erin is an expert in this field and recently produced a study "Who's at the Helm of Healthcare? A 2019 Checkup Report" where she focuses on the C-suites of healthcare (https://payhip.com/b/rpCB). We dabbled into not only the hurdles but how we can work together to ensure everyone is given an equal chance when it comes to being promoted and climbing the ranks of healthcare.

Dr. Nancy Lewis was kind enough to sit down with me for this episode to discuss some very critical legislation that has been introduced in the state of Michigan regarding the implementation of telepharmacy in that state. Dr. Lewis and I discuss what Senate Bill 340 entails, who is behind it and what it could layout for the future of pharmacy and healthcare in the state of Michigan, as well as ways to stay involved in pharmacy legislation in your state.
