Sidney is finishing up her degree in biomedical engineering with a focus in electrical and minor in applied math. Eager to work abroad, she conducted her own research while interning at Mensia Technologies in Paris, France. She is now the founder and CEO of De Oro Devices and created a device capable of alleviating and preventing the freezing of gait episodes experienced by patients with Parkinson’s.

Kieran is a recent graduate with a degree in business entrepreneurship. What started as a senior project has now turned into the company Clove, a product allowing users to grow fresh ingredients right in their kitchen. The smart device takes care of everything from watering to feeding to lighting. Kieran is one of the founders and takes the lead on the business development side of the company.

David is in the graduate program at Cal Poly, obtaining a degree in fire protection engineering. During his undergrad, he studied mechanical engineering and was highly involved in Engineers Without Borders. He had the opportunity to travel to Fiji, along with the EWB team, to work with communities in helping adapt to sea level rise.

Dr. Meisenheimer is a Cal Poly graduate with a degree in biochemistry and is back teaching organic chemistry, neurochemistry, and chemistry of drugs and poisons at Cal Poly. She is currently on sabbatical at Vanderbilt University doing research to find new drugs to help treat schizophrenia.

Jimmy is a senior at Cal Poly, gaining a degree in food science. During his junior year, he started a pop-up restaurant in his studio apartment. Beginning with his friends, he scaled the gig to eventually host CEOs and President Armstrong. His passion and love for food has been expressed throughout his life as he continues his path as a chef.

Sierra is the president of Cal Poly Entrepreneurs and is a fourth-year business entrepreneurship student. She has found her home with the CPE family, growing her passion for entrepreneurship and helping those around her. Starting as an associate member, she has worked her way up to VP of events and is currently serving as President of the club.

Jonathan is currently a sophomore studying aerospace engineering with minors in physics and astronomy. He assisted Dr. Field in the dark matter exhibit, describing the unique story of our universe’s formation. After interning at NASA this past summer, he hopes to continue gaining experience in the astronautical industry.

Asia graduated from Cal Poly in 2011 with a degree in modern languages and literature and is now a full-time photographer in San Luis Obispo. In addition to her photography business, she runs her own magazine, podcast, and is currently starting a nonprofit. She enjoys shooting portraits, weddings, and engagements, of students and the local community, showcasing her work on Instagram.

Odiseo is finishing up a final quarter as a fifth year at Cal Poly after pursuing a degree in Wine and Viticulture. He has interned at the SLO County Medical Ward as well as shadowing an orthopedic surgeon and has recently been conducting research on campus involving organic synthesis.
