This week we watched Moneyball, the 2011 movie starring Brad Pitt as Billy Beane, as he tries to take the Oakland A's to the top of the baseball world using statistics as his guide. Jonah Hill and Chris Pratt also play roles as a Yale-educated statistician and a player put into a new role, respectively. The movie is based on true events and is directed by Bennett Miller. Steven Zaillian and Aaron Sorkin adapted the screenplay from the book Moneyball: The Art of Winning an Unfair Game.

This week, we watched the movie Avatar: The Last Airbender, directed by M. Night Shyamalan and released in 2010. It certainly wasn't the greatest achievement in film, and it was quite a poor adaptation.

This week we reviewed Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow - a novel written by Gabrielle Zevin, telling the stories of Samson Masur and Sadie Green and how their lives intertwine.

This week we watched Se7en - a murder mystery thriller based on the seven deadly sins. It stars Brad Pitt and Morgan Freeman in the lead roles and is directed by David Fincher.

This week, we watched Spirited Away - a 2002 Anime movie directed by Hayao Miyazaki. This movie tells the story of a young girl named Chihiro and her quest to release her parents from the spirit realm. In the process, she learns about herself, builds relationships, and grows from the experience.

This week we did something special - we reviewed the book, The Hobbit, written by JRR Tolkien. Originally published in 1937, it tells the story of Bilbo Baggins and his adventures with the dwarves and Gandalf from Hobbiton to Mirkwood, the Lonely Mountain, and beyond.

In this episode, we watched Memento - a 2001 movie starring Guy Pearce, Joe Pantoliano, and Carrie-Anne Moss. Directed by Christopher Nolan and written by both John and Christopher Nolan, this movie was quite the watch.

This week we watched Straight Outta Compton, a 2015 movie detailing the lives of those from Compton who sought to use their music to share their stories. It follows characters like Dr. Dre, Ice Cube, Eazy E, and more as they find their way from Compton to the world at large.

This week, we watched My Left Foot, the 1989 biographical movie starring Daniel Day-Lewis in the titular role as Christy Brown.
