In this episode, we sit down with 2020 US Mosconi Cup member Chris Robinson. Chris shares how he got started in pool, when he realized that he "arrived" as a professional player, what the whole Mosconi Cup experience was like, and his future goals on the professional pool scene. I was very impressed with Chris' maturity and self-awareness in this interview. He opened up about several important concepts and really shared quite a bit about his Mosconi Cup selection and the vision for the Juniors program in the United States. Also, Chris is an accomplished photographer and you can check out his work on Facebook at Chris Robinson Photography or Instagram @chrisinfocuss. Sit back and enjoy a rising star and a good guy in the pool world.
Get to know one of the best one pocket players in the world and one of the best action players as well. Tony Chohan shares some insights, some road stories, and talks about some top players in this interview. Don't forget to check out Tony's apparel brand, Game Tight Apparel by following him on Facebook. You will really like and appreciate Tony's laid back style and easy going presence. Check out whom he'd like to play next and tell me you don't want to see that match happen!
In this episode, Kelly Fisher talks about rising to the top of the Snooker world and then making the leap to 9-ball! She shares some great advice during the interview and also opens up about overcoming some personal health challenges to once again become a World Champion. I found this discussion to be full of great advice and I thought Kelly really opened up about some tough topics. She is an extraordinary pool player and an extraordinary person and I am very grateful for the chance to get to know her. I'd like to give a special thanks to Chad Sholders from Havoc Productions for connecting us and making this interview a possibility.
I hope you enjoy this video going through the first Pool Player Podcast One Pocket Power Rankings. I apologize for some video glitches throughout but the content was just too good so I had to roll with it. Panel: Oscar Dominguez (CA), Mike Davis (NC), Molina Mike (TX), Joey Ryan (AZ) Methodology: Each panelist separately ranked their top 18 one pocket players without seeing each other's lists. The lists were then compiled, averaged, then ranked. The goal is to begin discussions on the top one pocket players and maybe stimulate some action matchups. The One Pocket Power Rankings will be updated on a regular basis. Note: This recording took place prior to the Chip Compton vs. Roberto Gomez match that just finished up.
In this Industry Edition interview with Chad Sholders from Havoc Productions, he introduces a new concept for growing the sport of pool through qualifier tournaments eventually leading to events with a $1,000,000 prize pool. We discuss Chad's background in pool and business sense, how the Blood, Sweat and Tiers process works, some of his sponsored players, and how players, tournament directors, and streamers can get started in his model. As with anything new in the pool world, I'm sure there will be some critics of his plan but when you see Chad's energy and passion for growing the sport of pool, you might just become convinced that he is the kind of person that can pull this off!
Please share your comments and the video, and thank you for helping to get this channel to over 1,000 subscribers! For more information on Havoc Productions, visit havocbilliards.com and be sure to check out the FAQ page and Tournament Guideline page!
This episode, over three months in the making, features one of the best one pocket players in the world, Scott Frost. The original recording occurred in September but in the final recording, Scott's video froze for over 40 minutes. We both decided that the best thing to do was to re-record those 40 minutes, but it took a while to get it rescheduled. Thankfully, we got it done and Scott was very kind to agree to do this. Some of the topics we cover in this show include how Scott got started playing pool, stories of high dollar gambling matches, Scott's current business interests, and some advice for players. After watching this, I believe that you will agree that the only thing Scott may do better than play one pocket is tell a story.
If you own a truck and are interested in a really nice grille, check out Scott's new business partners at royaltycore.com or @royaltycore on Facebook and Instagram.
I'd also like to thank Rick Schmitz with RixxImages for another quality thumbnail image of Scott and Lenny Marshall for some images and video from On The Rail TV.
Wow, Rodney Morris! What a podcast episode! Rodney is a full of charisma, funny stories, and solid advice for pool players. You will love his easy-going nature and his joy for life. In this episode, we discuss his background and playing career, many of his rivals and friends from the professional pool scene, his new business endeavor, and he is probably the best story teller that we’ve had on the podcast! This will easily become one of the most listened to pool player interviews and the timing couldn’t be better. As a former Mosconi Cup MVP, we talk about the 2020 Mosconi Cup and the event in general. Between this episode and Episode 15 with Emily Frazer, pool fans should be in Mosconi Cup dead punch leading up to the event!
In this episode, Emily Frazer discusses how she got started with Matchroom and what led her to her current position of Managing Director of Matchroom Multi Sport. We also discussed the challenges of 2020 and plans for 2021 as well as the different events that Matchroom promotes. With the 2020 Mosconi Cup right around the corner, we talked a good deal about the event, the players, and about growing the sport. You will see that her passion to grow professional pool is unsurpassed and she won't rest until she can take pool to the casual fan.
In this episode with pool legend Johnny Archer, we discuss what led him to pool and how he escaped small town Georgia to become one of the sport’s largest stars. We also dive into the differences in the sport today compared to the 1990’s. Johnny shares his thoughts about what happened to 9-ball and the decline in popularity among spectators. I ask him specifically about his biggest rivals and whom he’d take on the road with him today. I think you’ll find his answer a bit surprising as well as his answer to whom I should interview for the show. Sit back and enjoy this discussion with Hall of Famer, Johnny Archer!
Don’t forget to subscribe to the channel. Great episodes coming up from top players including Scott Frost, Tony Chohan, Rodney Morris, and Kelly Fisher. Also, a special pre-Mosconi Cup interview with Emily Frazer! You won’t want to miss what’s in store!

After watching this episode, I think you'll agree that Molina Mike is not just a guy who is "in the know", but he carries with him great pool knowledge and the ability to assess players and matchups.
