Following King's assassination it was left to Ralph Abernathy and the rest of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference to carry out his Poor People's Campaign. That would be easier said than done. Between his loss of leadership and the FBI, the federal government, and even the news media arrayed against them their fight would be an up hill battle.
