  • I Want to Break the Fourth Wall of Reality:

If you hang around the woo-woos of the world long enough, you’ll hear a lot about the 3D world and 5D consciousness.

There are courses, tools, methods, meditations and sound frequencies that can allegedly get you there. Some of which I absolutely believe are legitimate. Others sound a little... wanky.

I once came across a spiritual coach selling a programme promising access to 5D consciousness, abundance codes and potentially a 7 figure income, all for the small price of a 4 figure investment.

The kicker? She was advertising it dressed as a blue alien from Avatar.

Nothing spookier than abundance codes behind a paywall, tbh.

Now, I’m all for expanding consciousness, but I do find it interesting that something supposedly concerned with transcending material existence is so frequently marketed through the promise of accumulating more material wealth.

I’m also not particularly interested in transcending my humanity. I’m not ready to leave my body. I quite like being human.

In contemporary spiritual language, 3D consciousness is often associated with the ego, individual identity and material existence. I am I, you are you, and I’m the character experiencing reality.

Meanwhile, 5D consciousness is commonly described as unity, love and interconnectedness. You are me and I am you. There is no separation.

    I believe in that, too.

But I am still I, and you are still you, because we have bodies, we have egos, and we exist in a world that measures linear time and productivity in dollars.

I believe we can access that sense of unity through love, community, nature, meditation, movement and spiritual practice without having to transcend our physical existence.

And if we’re going to talk so much about the 3D and 5D, why aren’t we talking about the in-between?

It’s like going from baby Jesus straight to Jesus, friend of sex workers and the poor. There’s a whole chapter missing.

And that, for me, is the 4D.

If 3D consciousness is “I am experiencing reality,” then 4D is “I am aware that I am experiencing reality in this body.”

It’s where we ask our questions.

Where we begin to look beyond what’s immediately in front of us and question the systems, patterns, stories, beliefs and assumptions shaping our experience while we’re experiencing it.

That’s what I mean when I say I want to break the fourth wall of reality.

I don’t believe the goal of being human is to get rid of our egos entirely. I have a massive ego. I wouldn’t have a podcast if I didn’t.

But I want to be present with it, check it, and understand how it influences my choices.

I am the main character of my own TV show. And so is everybody else. We all have our own shows going, but we get to play cameos and have crossovers.

And perhaps remembering that is another way of accessing the unity we associate with 5D consciousness.

Because accessing 5D consciousness doesn’t absolve us of our responsibilities in the 3D.

If anything, wouldn’t experiencing unity make us more conscious of those responsibilities?

I think the way through is through the fourth dimension. Through questioning ourselves, each other, and the reality we’ve been taught to accept.

Because when we question, sometimes we intuitively have answers. And sometimes, intuitively, we know we don’t have answers, so we seek them.

And that is how we get back to unity. A united sense of curiosity, a united yearning to expand, to better ourselves, to change, to evolve.

I don’t want to transcend being human. I want to become more conscious of how I’m being human.

    Not escaping the production.

Becoming aware of it while I’m still very much in the scene.

These are my personal interpretations and evolving beliefs, not established scientific explanations of consciousness. As always, bring your discernment. I reserve the right to change my mind.

  • People Plan, God Laughs: Live From My Mess

I had plans for Japan. Plans for the podcast. Plans for content. Plans for what I would make, when I would make it, and what version of me would apparently be available to execute all of the above.

Then I remembered I am, tragically, one person.

After five weeks back home in Japan — the longest I’ve spent there since moving to Sydney at 18, and the longest stretch I’ve had without working since then too — I came back with more clarity, less interest in forcing things, and a room full of unpacked s**t.

So I recorded Pop Mystic from the mess.

A lot of this episode is me reconsidering what “consistency” actually means. I don’t think it always has to mean same time, same output, same pace. Some of us work more like weather systems. Nothing looks like it’s happening, then suddenly everything moves at once.

Maybe consistency can also be the quality of energy you bring when you do show up.

Maybe being “behind” is sometimes just being behind on a schedule you invented.

Maybe capacity is not a moral issue.

And maybe the mess isn’t what’s stopping the process. Maybe the mess is part of it.

In this episode: being a one-woman production company, last-minute genius, creative pressure, intuition, perfectionism, capacity, failing upwards in public, and why I increasingly think being unfinished where people can see you is kind of the point.

People plan. God laughs. We proceed.

  • Intuition: The Inconvenient Truth

Episode 2 of Pop Mystic is me trying to pull intuition out of the fluffy little box we’ve put it in.

Because yes, intuition can be angel numbers, synchronicities, dreams, weird little signs and the occasional I just know. But most of the time? It’s much less glamorous than that. Sometimes it’s your body saying no. Sometimes it’s knowing a truth before you have the language for it. Sometimes it’s realising the plan you’ve been following is not actually yours. And sometimes it’s just deeply inconvenient.

    That’s where this episode goes.

I talk about the systems that train us to override ourselves — school, work, capitalism, patriarchy, productivity culture, the need to belong — and why we are so often rewarded for being compliant, measurable, efficient and easy to influence.

I also get into the bigger picture: climate crisis, herd behaviour, the body, nature, the feminine, AI, belief, and the strange fact that the same world telling us to disconnect from our own knowing is also doing a pretty good job of disconnecting us from the planet.

    Very light stuff, obviously.

At the heart of it, though, this episode is really about one thing: the truth is not always the inconvenient part. The inconvenient part is what happens when you actually decide to live by it.

And if that makes you a little less useful to the machine? Maybe that’s not a problem.

Mercury Rx disclaimer: Mercury got into the microwave and ate the final minute of the recording, so yes, this episode ends abruptly. The transmission cuts out, but the message remains 👽📡

  • Shut Up and Listen: The Algorithm Is Not the Oracle

Shut Up and Listen: The Algorithm Is Not the Oracle

    Everyone’s an influencer now.

I know, I know. Not exactly a revolutionary internet sentence. But in episode 1 of Pop Mystic, I wanted to talk about influence beyond sponsored posts, discount codes, GRWMs, and people pretending their morning routine is a moral achievement.

Because influence is older than the internet.

The original meaning of influence is connected to something flowing into something else. To be influenced is to be moved, shaped, put into a certain flow.

And before the algorithm became the oracle, humans were influenced by nature. By seasons. By stars. By stories. By ancestors. By each other.

So the question is not, “Am I being influenced?”

    You are.

The better question is: what are you letting flow into you?

    Because influence should expand you.

It should move you closer to your intuition, your expression, your people, your planet. It should spark something alive in you.

It should not make you feel smaller, faker, more anxious, more behind, or more obedient to whatever the algorithm decided is worth becoming this week.

A lot of us, especially creatives, have started consulting the algorithm like it’s the oracle.

What should I make? What should I say?How should I dress? What will perform? What will make me legible? What will make me liked?

But the algorithm is not a divine intelligence. It is not your intuition. It is not your ancestors whispering through the veil.

It is a machine trained by attention, consumption, and profit.

And yes, the internet can be magical. It can connect us to community, collaborators, culture, weird little niche corners of belonging we might never have found otherwise.

But when the internet becomes our only source of influence, we start to lose texture.

So this episode is also a plea for texture.

Go outside. Watch an old movie. People-watch at a café. Read something dusty. Look at vintage magazines. Touch fabric. Notice buildings. Let your life be influenced by something with a pulse.

    Because real inspiration needs digestion.

This is also why imitation does not feel like flattery to me.

When someone inspires me, I do not want to copy and paste their expression. I want to sit with what moved me. I want to ask: what did this awaken in me? Why did it resonate? What does this mean through my body, my story, my voice, my practice?

Inspiration without integration is just copy-paste cosplay.

And in a world where AI, algorithms, and optimisation culture are getting better at mimicking human subtlety, the most radical thing we can do is come back to what is actually ours.

    Your intuition is still speaking.

    The algorithm is just loud.

So yes, this episode is called Shut Up and Listen — partly because of The Princess Diaries, partly because I am spiritually Lilly Moscovitz with 12 viewers, and partly because I do think we need to shut up and listen.

    Not to the algorithm.

    To ourselves.

    To each other.

To the world beyond the screen.

    Let your freak flag fly.

    xoxo

  • Starting From Zero: The Fool, The Mystic & The Reality TV Star

Welcome to Episode 0 of Pop Mystic — the reintroduction, the rebirth, the “we’re so back” of it all.

In this episode, I’m starting from zero.

The Fool’s Journey in tarot begins at zero too — not from nothing, but from the space between an ending and a beginning. So this felt like the only honest place to begin again.

Pop Mystic started in 2021 as an idea for a five-part essay series about the strange, sparkly intersection of reality TV, pop culture, mysticism, self-awareness, identity, media, storytelling, and personal mythology.

But the idea had other plans.

This episode is about why I’m returning to the screen, why I call life cinematic instead of romantic, why reality TV is absolutely a valid spiritual study, and how the stories we consume, inherit, question, and consciously choose can shape the reality we live inside.

Because words carry story.Stories carry belief.Beliefs shape behaviour.Behaviour shapes culture. And culture shapes reality.

Pop Mystic is where spirituality, reality TV, pop psychology, media, creativity, mysticism, ancient wisdom, cultural commentary, and “why am I like this?” all get to sit at the same table.

This episode is not perfect, and it is not meant to be. It is mostly unedited because part of this project is my desire for media to feel more honest, human, and authentic — not overly polished into something lifeless.

    Welcome to my cinematic multiverse.

    No more avoiding.

And if you’re more into video content, make sure you head over to the official YouTube channel, like, subscribe, all that good stuff to get it on your big screen (please! That would make my childhood dream come true to be on your TV hehe xoxo)

A little note before you listen:

This episode is not perfect, and it is not meant to be.

I made the mistake of recording it on Zoom, which I have learned from for Episode 1 onwards. The subtitles have not been fully proofread because I have, respectfully, too much to do — so I’m surrendering to your critical thinking, context clues, and general discernment.

I’ve decided to keep this episode mostly unedited, and I intend to keep Pop Mystic that way where possible. Part of this project is my desire for media to feel more honest, human, and authentic — not overly polished into something lifeless.

That said, I also reserve the right to change my mind, edit when needed, and shape each episode responsibly depending on the topic, context, and story being told.
