Apple TV's 'Pluribus' hits the ground running this week! Ebube and Cris begin by dissecting the episode’s ominous opening and how it deftly reflects the most relatable aspects of Carol’s humanity, praising the writers for not being afraid to reward their audience for being attentive.

Their discussion goes on to dive into Mr. Diabate’s approach to the amenable apocalypse and his handling of Carol, as well as the new depths of loneliness the story seems to have in store for Carol given what she learns in Vegas.

They of course also break down the true implications of the Hive's big revelation about what it takes to “join” and celebrate Manousos finally getting some fresh air.

We all need space sometimes. So Ebube and Cris are staying as far as they possibly can from all freezers as they reel from the fifth episode of Apple TV's 'Pluribus'.

They start by suggesting a new home for Carol while taking stock of the new information we get about the Joined (10:55), as well as the fact that Laxmi never changes, before discussing the implications of Carol effectively being treated like an existential threat (12:48).

They then discuss Carol's recording persona, the highlights of her milk investigation, and her fierce battle with the OG scavengers. They also weigh in on the discourse about the Joined bearing uncanny similarities to generative AI, and talk about whether that should affect the way people perceive the show itself (39:20).

They of course finish by diving into the episode's quietly intense ending and how it potentially changes the tone of the entire show (52:51), after which they address comments from the audience (01:03:52).

Time for an experiment! And a love overdose while we're at it. Turns out Carol's a big fan of the scientific method, or at least some semblance of it — we'll put a pin on that for now.

Ebube and Cris commend Carol for thinking outside the box as she tries to understand what the Hive can and can’t do for her, and they discuss just how likely — or not — she truly is to save the world from happiness.

They start by sharing general thoughts on the episode, before honing in on a certain starving gentleman from Paraguay. Then they explore the implications of Carol asking deeper questions as she realizes she can seek truth in more ways than one, while confronting what love means to her.
