Popgram Podcast

Episode 83 - We discuss what we really learnt in 2020, Celebrity culture ain’t it, so do not call a celebrity when in a pandemic.

Warner Media kills the cinema according to AMC, we provide a more nuanced and rowdy view.

CW is killing us with the remake of Tru Blood and just annoying most of us with their continued Riverdale renewal.

We take a whistle stop tour of the celebrity idiocy of the year.

We go through the Disney slate of content of which there is a lot...based on how short this summary of the podcast is, I will reiterate... we went through the 52 updates by Disney from Marvel, to Pixar to Star Wars to Infinity and Beyond!

Lastly, we discuss what we watched and listened recently.

This is our last podcast for 2020 and so we will see you in the new year!

Episode 82 - So much was covered at a quick clip on the podcast as we had to fight back from technical difficulties; dramatic I know.

So... we commemorated Nicki Minaj’s Pinkprint 10 year anniversary, concluded the promise of Kylie’s new album Disco with no skips was untrue and concluded Tenetwatch and began WonderWomanWatch (WWW).

You want more do you? We discuss the publishing of Alan Rickman’s diaries proposed for release in 2022 and Mariah Carey saving Christmas 2020 on Apple TV.

Even more?! Ok we also discuss Watching Small Axe by Steve McQueen on the BBC, 18 again K-TV version - Viki, Somebody Feed Phil - Netflix, Hair Power, Me and My Afro - Channel 4 and Messiah 1 an old BBC detective show watched the old-fashioned way, on DVD!

We whistlestop through No More Heroes 1 & 2 and Need For Speed - Hot Pursuit, on the Switch.

Kevin Harts No Fucks Given standup, Star Trek Discovery, Hospital Playlist and Start-Up on Netflix with Red Velvet singing the title theme Future.

Deep breath... even more?!!

Ok, finally we gave our very arrogant and genius opinions on the Meghan Thee Stallion, Miley Cyrus & Dua Lipa, Shawn Mendes and Justin Bieber and Saweetie ft. Jhene Aiko music videos and discuss albums we had been listening to and our hotakes on Meghan Thee Stallion’s Good News, BTS - Be And Blackstar Kids - Whatever Man albums.

Breathe out, you definitely do not deserve this hot content, however since you are here... RATE and REVIEW.

Episode 81 - Guess who’s back in the…

By the time this podcast is up, the United States would hopefully have decided on their new President, however this did not stop us from ranting about the Black male celebrities, mainly rappers, making a fool of themselves during this election cycle.

We discussed the Beckham’s reality show…(cough) we mean docu-series, celebrated Whitney Houston being the only Black woman with 3 diamond certified albums and the Ted Lasso renewal extension to season 3 off the back of season 1 on Apple TV.

We had a good ole rant about Netflix and its mammoth database and unrealistic cancellation of very good shows (again); GLOW, Sabrina, Teenage Bounty Killers and the list goes on. We discuss Peacock and their content including Lily Singh, Amber Ruffin and Larry Wilmore and topped it all off with some K-Pop news.

In old skool masculinity news, we discussed the remastered No More Heroes on Nintendo Switch and Cobra Kai.

We watched the following on Netflix; Journey of an African Colony, Trigger Warning with Killer Mike, Greenleaf, Star Trek Discovery Season 3 and West Wing (oops this was on More 4).

We discovered new stories in podcasts titled, You Must Remember This, Uncovered Nxim, Abroad in Japan and the Charles Manson case.

We listened to and reviewed; WizKid - Made in Lagos album and Arianna Grande - Positions album.
