Does sin really matter if you claim to be a Christian? Isn't the whole point of salvation forgiveness so you don't have to worry about whether or not you're sinning?

1 John 2:28-3:3

-We’ve seen that Affection Matters (our love for God and not loving the sinful patterns of this world).

-We’ve seen that Theology Matters (our belief that Jesus is both fully God and fully man, the perfect sacrifice for our sin).

-Today we will see that Confidence Matters (knowing we are truly saved will have a massive impact on our daily lives).

Does sin really matter? Can't we just "have a relationship" with God and do what we want? We’ll answer those questions as we continue to learn from the book of 1 John that was written so that “our joy may be complete” (1:4).
