  • Full Moon Syndrome - Self titled (Cassette, 1999)

A trip to The Past. I found this cassette in an antique mall, and it took me on a real emotional rollercoaster. This episode took about three years to write, and consists of interviews with Gary "Twisted" Sisto and E. G. Woodard, both halves of the short-lived "urban-folk duet" called Full Moon Syndrome. I still have about six of their CDs in my possession, if you would like one. Email me your mailing address: [email protected].

This episode was recorded live at for Podfort, at Treefort Music Fest, in Boise Contemporary Theater. March of 2026. Thanks to Julia and Keanna, for reading with me. Extra special thanks to Gary; for his patience. If you're reading this, I'd like to tell you a quick story of my own:

Keanna Stokes (who covers your song in this episode) and I met at a song share hosted by my friend Jesse at Mixed Metaphor Recording Studios. I had already emailed you, and was writing the episode, and was trying to find someone who could produce a cover that would feel true to the original work you made with Liz. Keanna's voice stood out to me at the song share that week; we had never met before, but I approached her afterwards and asked if I could email her about a weird project I was working on -- if she would help me. She agreed, and over the course of making this podcast, we became good friends; GREAT friends, in fact. She plays trumpet and saxophone in my band, now, and I am going to her Twilight-Zone-themed halloween party next week. We share an expurgiated background as former members of the LDS church; we are writing and singing together constantly, and I never could have guessed the beautiful collaborative friendship that would be born out of this project that I agonized over for so many years. Did you know that your music still, after all these years, brings unexpected people together? I admire that a lot, and I want to do what you do. So thanks, Gary, and thank, Liz. Everything you have ever done in your life matters so much.

  • Jandek - Graven Image (CD, 1994) & Various
A conversation with experimental musician Sarah Hennies, about her relationship to the elusive alt-folk lo-fi musician known as 'Jandek.' CD borrowed from Sarah Hennies, February 2025. Exclusive cover of Jandek's 'Time and Space' by friend of the show Eden Arnold. Today's episode recorded on my Hitachi TRQ-296 Cassette Tape Recorder. Originally produced for WXBC Bard College [experimental since 1947!] I found my own copy of the CD on ebay three days after I recorded this. Check out 'Ghost Town By The Sea,' which didn't fit comfortably into today's episode, and is the first Jandek song I listened to in its entirety.
