So I was invited to play at Green School in Bali. At the party every country of birth of the students was represented with a stand. Every country set up fun activities typical for that country. So what did the Dutch do? They played 'sjoel', baked 'poffertjes' and invited me, DJ AiNi, and held a silent disco party with Dutch Dance music. Here's the set of that day. At the end of the set two girls of maybe 10 or 11 came up to me saying "this was the best party ever". That - ladies and gentleman - is why I do what I do:-)))...

So as I'm making my comeback as a DJ - after 20 years... I was asked to play at a benefit for Sulawesi. Ofcourse I said yes. The set was interesting. Part I was me trying to build up something... not easy because the audience was from kids to parents and inbetween. But then it started to thunder and rain... so everybody escaped the beautiful garden and bonfire. I had to run with my unplugged equipment and set up everything again inside the restaurant. There I started my second part of the set and that is when the roof was blown off. Somehow the weather brought us all closer together and I entered the zone... You know that place where you can play anything you want and people will keep on dancing. You can even play silly songs... which i did (a cumbia version of Queen's We will Rock You or a remix of Mr. Sandman by The Chordettes)... We had fun and I played one hour longer then planned. Before you start listening to part II, please indulge and enjoy part I... all part of the buildup to part II... so you can't skip ahead;-)...

here's my first Inner Whispers party set at Swasti Eco Cottages in Nyuh Kuning. A battle of DJ's. Poyan and me trying hard to keep everyone on the dancefloor around the bonfire. What a beautiful evening. I learned a good lesson though. One mistake and everyone switches to the other channel/DJ. Until he makes a mistake... Lesson? Don't make mistakes. In a Silent Disco DJ battle you don't carefully build up a set, you just give give give... because people tune in and out very fast... Keep the attention. Loveyou,
