In this episode, our final one for Season 1, we speak with Sumana Jeddy. A Wellness Coach, burnout specialist and an M and M enthusiast. Sumana Jeddy is a content creator, educator, facilitator and founder of Jeddy Wellness, a Canadian wellness company that specializes in evidence-based workplace wellness strategies. Sumana has completed a Bachelor of Science Degree in Microbiology followed by a Master of Public Health degree, both from the University of British Columbia.
She spent 10 years of her career in infectious disease surveillance in public health; first as a scientist in a laboratory extracting DNA/RNA from viruses and then as a manager in public health providing advanced oversight and management of strategies for the detection and control of diseases in Alberta. She optimized disease projects that involved consulting at all levels of government by analyzing and disseminating complex public health data to the scientific community and the public. Sumana has published 20+ peer-reviewed research articles and has presented disease research at conferences in the United States and Canada.
Sumana loves public health and her passion for workplace wellness and burnout prevention stems from her own burnout. Workplace wellness has changed and every workplace needs burnout prevention strategies to combat this global contagion. Sumana bridges the gap between research and practice by providing wellness strategies that are not only grounded in science, data, and empathy but are also modern, practical, and playful (aka Wellness Shots!). Sumana has over 25K followers on TikTok and some of her videos have surpassed 1 million views, because she consistently provides relatable content that is not only educational but also practical at the system, team and individual level.
