This Positive Parenting Pep Talk is the third of four Positive Parenting Pep Talks helping your children cope with change or transition.
Here are the steps for resolving conflicts:
Tell your child you want to problem solve and as permission to work the problem out.
State the problem simply and clearly as possible.
Share how you feel and ask for what you want using an "I" statement.
Ask your child to share how he feels and what he wants.
Together on a piece of paper, make a list of possible solutions.
Give your child the list first and let him cross out anything he doesn't like. Then cross out anything on the list you don't like.
Pick one of the suggestions or a combination of suggestions as a solution.Thank you for listening and subscribing to the Positive Parenting Pep Talks podcast.
