She graduated with a Juris Doctorate from the University of Miami School of Law in 2005. In 2018, she earned a Positive Psychology Specialization Certification through the University of Pennsylvania. Hamani’s formal education is in Marine and Environmental Science, and he works in support of the Department of Defense with a focus on the water, energy, food nexus globally. Today’s guest, Moriah Lark, drops in to discuss the opportunities for personal and spiritual growth amongst inmates during her work with prison ministry.
Moriah is a Chicago native and a graduate of Hampton University where she received both her Bachelor of Science and MBA degree. She currently works as a Marketing Partnerships Manager in Global Partnerships and Media at the National Basketball Association in New York City where she manages key marketing partnership relationships with some of the world’s most prominent global brands across the NBA, WNBA, NBA G League, USA Basketball, the Basketball Africa League and NBA2K League. While sports is what brought Moriah to New York City, her passion is what keeps her here. She is passionate about fighting mass incarceration and spends a lot of her leisure time volunteering at Rikers Island where she mentors young men and women to expose them to life after incarceration, conflict resolution, mental health, and spiritual growth, which in turn, has allowed her to expand her perspective on life and discover new elements of joy.
