We sit down with Jamie Craig, a police officer, on the Martha's Vineyard. We talk about the nature of his work and his role in the community.

Sgt. James Craig is a police officer on the island of Martha’s Vineyard in Massachusetts. A 5th generation native islander, he started working as a summer police officer in 1982 and became a full-time officer in 1987.

Jamie left the police department for several years to serve on active duty as an Officer in the United States Navy, flying helicopters in Desert Storm and in support of NATO operations in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

After returning to the Edgartown Police Department in 1994, Jamie created and commanded the Martha’s Vineyard Tactical Response Team, deploying in 2013 as part of Boston’s efforts to hunt down the Boston Marathon Bombers.

Jamie currently serves as an instructor for the Massachusetts Police Training Council in several disciplines and is also a certified instructor for the National Tactical Officer’s Association and the Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training Center. He holds a Bachelor of Science from the Rochester Institute of Technology, and over his career has attended over 60 courses in police operations and leadership.

Off duty, Jamie serves as a Consulting Producer for Hallmark’s Martha’s Vineyard Mystery film series, teaches the aviation curriculum for the United States Naval Sea Cadet Corps, and is a single father of three amazing children.

We sit down with Defnelson for a discussion about his life as a music producer.

DeAnthony Nelson Jr. CEO of DNJ Entertainment aka Music Producer Defnelson, holds degrees in Music Percussion, Business Administration and International Business from Pittsburg State University, He studied percussion with Dr. James Clanton and composition with Dr. John C. Ross. He also studied musical tools and audio effects for the musical software programming environment, Max/MSP and computer music composition with Richard Dudas in South Korea during his exchange at Hanyang University in Seoul, South Korea.

He has been dedicated to music for over 25 years. While living abroad he has developed a great knowledge of a wide range of cultural diversities. Within these areas, communication is a very important aspect. He communicates well verbally and most importantly, communicates to the listeners of any ongoing film/music projects though his creative sound and musical ideas. Music and sound enhance any film tenfold. By applying his knowledge and cultural experiences that he has attained over the years into his work, he is able to not only physical but also subconsciously effect and enhance the experiences for the audience.
