A lot of people ask, "How do I do well spiritually?" So today we decided to tackle the answer to that common question. In our two part series we dive into the necessary steps that it takes for all of us to take responsibly for our own personal walk with God and start consistently doing well.
James 1:22-25 NLT
But don’t just listen to God’s word. You must do what it says. Otherwise, you are only fooling yourselves. [23] For if you listen to the word and don’t obey, it is like glancing at your face in a mirror. [24] You see yourself, walk away, and forget what you look like. [25] But if you look carefully into the perfect law that sets you free, and if you do what it says and don’t forget what you heard, then God will bless you for doing it.
The first place to start for everyone is to deal with how we view the Bible. When we read the Bible is it a time to be judged or graded, or do we see the possibilities and points of progress. We all come to God and His Word with different backgrounds and baggage but we all must own the work that moves our hearts to be resilient and not get discouraged when you see the truth from the Bible. Look and see who you can be. See the opportunity! If we can take responsibility of that, and not blame anyone or anything for our spiritual condition we can begin to walk with God like we never have before.
