If we approach sharing our faith as less of a system and more in relationship, we need to be in tune with the Spirit as He guides us. Paul and Dave talk about prayer and how we prepare ourselves to be open and ready to listen and share when the opportunities arise.
If stories are so powerful, how can we leverage our expertise in our own stories to help show people how we've met Jesus? Paul and Dave chat about the six word story and how to examine your life to best articulate our story to people you're in relationship with.
What does it mean that Jesus is a ransom, is our victor, and is the healer? Paul and Dave jump into the second set of images that the Bible gives us and talk about how we can hold these things together, lean into ones that we may need to learn more about, and use them as great starting points in our conversations with others.
Do you ever find yourself mixing metaphors and trying to put together all the ways that the Bible talks about our relationship with God in a single conversation? As we continue our series on How To Share Your Faith, join Paul and Dave as they talk about the ways we can think about our language and the needs of others and dive into the first three of six was of unpacking the good news.
What are the things that stop us from telling others that we're followers of Jesus and inviting them to be too? Paul and Dave chat about feeling ashamed, unprepared, and afraid, and how we can overcome those feelings and share with compassion and confidence.
Welcome back! In this special extended episode, Paul & Dave talk about alignment and unpack our strategy - our purpose of aligning lives to the way of Jesus, and our mission of encountering God together, embracing a rule of life, and embodying Jesus everywhere. We dive into why we think slowing down is important in this moment, how trying harder doesn't get us there, and what we're learning along the way. We'd love to hear your questions!
Why is it important that there's a tree in the centre of the city in the book of Revelation, and what does Easter change about how we come into contact with the presence or God? Paul and Dave talk about how tracing trees through the story of God has helped them see Easter in fresh ways and see how the slow, steady work of becoming a disciple is growing like the rings of a tree.
On Sunday we heard how the prophet Isaiah used trees to talk about the people of Israel, and the hope of a new sprout springing up. Chris & Dave chat about other places we see trees in the Bible, and a simple practice we can all engage in this week as we look toward Easter.
How do we stay connected to and abide in Jesus, and what does that have to do with fruit? Paul and Dave talk about the Trinity and how we can walk in step with the Spirit, allow God the father to prune, and spend time ordering our loves to abide with Jesus.
Psalm 1 give us this picture of being blessed when we delight in the law of the Lord - and tells us that we're like trees! Paul and Dave discuss where else we see this in the Bible, how being happy and blessed are similar, and what it means to have seasons of bearing fruit.
