Many individuals feel challenges returning to work after a vacation. There are many emotions and feelings (positive and negative) experienced during this transition period. Recent literature identified four dimensions of difficulties when employees return to work after a vacation: 🔹work-related challenges 🔹social-level difficulties 🔹general difficulties, 🔹feeling of dis-identification. The emotions and feelings reported by participants had both positive and negative aspects. Many companies lack strategies to facilitate the readjustment to work. Recognizing the main difficulties and emotions experienced by employees is crucial for designing intervention practices that support this transition, ultimately promoting motivation, well-being, and productivity. Furthermore, the emotions associated with this return period could potentially predict individuals' attitudes towards work, offering additional value for enhancing human resource management processes. Adopting post vacation reintegration strategies is way for organizations to establish healthy employees and sustainable workplaces.
