On today's episode we interviewed Mama Meals founders, Holly & Eric Stein.

Holly Stein read the book The First Forty Days and realized she could do wonders to helping her body postpartum with proper nutrition. So she started making her own meals and freezing them so her and her husband Eric could heat them up after she had her baby. It was such a hit and she felt so good that she had friends ask if they could pay her to make them some. She of course did, but from there word spread like wildfire and Mama Meals was born.

Eric and holly were both chronically sick growing up. The doctors never seemed to ask about food and lifestyle but instead kept writing prescriptions. They met in their mid-20’s while on their own wellness journeys.  They traded nights out at the bag and eating junk food to nights in cooking real food and drinking Kombucha.

Eric became a published health and wellness author and Holly, a retired wedding planner, started blogging on low-tox living and creating various wellness businesses trying to find her place.

They had baby #1, disaster postpartum. Eating the wrong foods- Cold, raw, crunch, dry foods. Researched traditional wisdom from Chinese medicine, Ayurveda, and Weston a price before baby #2. Said to eat warm, soft, easy-to-digest, nutrient-dense foods. That postpartum Life-changing experience. No constipation, felt 1000x better, etc Holly meal prepped for a few friends, same feedback. Doula and midwife friends begged them to start a business for postpartum meals. Made a menu, started getting random orders from strangers, now shipping nationwide.
