Potomac Hills Presbyterian Church Sermons

This Easter Sunday, Pastor Dave preaches from Revelation 14 and the ultimate victory that has been won by Jesus Christ on that first Resurrection Sunday and which will conclusively be won by Jesus Christ on that great day when He returns.

A call for the endurance or perserverance of the saints

Pastor Dave preaches from Revelation 11-13 and the cosmic conflict between the Lord and Satan. That conflict came to a head many years ago in Jerusalem with the events that began Holy Week, beginning with Palm Sunday.

God started His work in us when He chose us before the foundation of the world. God continued it when He saved us by having the Holy Spirit apply the finished work of Christ on the cross to us personally, cleansing us of our sins, and clothing us in Christ's righteousness. God still continues His work in us today by leading us toward holiness, making us more and more in the image of His Son, as we grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. God will complete it when He returns and finds us confidently waiting for Him, trusting in His work and not our own, knowing that we deserve nothing, but by His grace have received everything.

Revelation 11. What happens between the sixth and seventh trumpets. This is a story of the church, witnessing to Christ, being persecuted for Christ, and ultimately triumphing through Christ.

We are called to burn down our own self-righteousness to force us to rely on Christ alone for His grace and forgiveness. Our holy God is our only hope. Flee from your sin and selfrighteousness and turn to Christ because judgment is coming. Flee to the house of Christ's righteousness. And when you do, He will rejoice over you with singing.
