A Mind Stayed on You

There is a daily choice. Who will you surrender to? When you consider what is at stake…the eternal consequences of being deceived…the continual attempt at seduction is horrifying. No fright show, no earthly scare…nothing Hollywood or New York to conjure up…there is no monster or diabolical script…that can compare with the horror of being seduced away from Christ.

In this service the Holy Spirit moved in a dynamic way, calling us "back to the upper room." Pastor Oldfield discoursed about the Upper Room and goes on to pray for members of the church.

In a time where draught had become the norm, Elijah prophesies to King Ahab that there is a heavy rain coming. Upon giving that word, Elijah returns to the place where God had been before (Mount Carmel). He places himself in a birthing position activating his faith for a heavy downpour. Elijah’s servant returns six times with the report that there is not even a cloud in the sky. But on the seventh time, he returns with the report of a cloud no bigger than a man’s hand coming over the mountain range. Elijah sends word to King Ahab to return to Jezreel before the rain stops him. Ahab takes off and Elijah, overcome by the Spirit of God, tucks his cloak into his belt and runs, in the rain, to Jezreel, outrunning the horse drawn chariot. In the same way Elijah followed the leading of the Spirit, we have been called to do the same…will you be a rain runner?
