Before the Church can truly grasp the reality of the gift of tongues, we must have a correct understanding of the Holy Spirit's diverse working in our lives.

When the promised Holy Spirit outpouring came to the early church, it changed them. In our day and time, we should seek to be changed in the same way.

Any legitimate conversation regarding Spiritual gifts must address the belief, by some, that these manifestations are not for today. Remember, the tendency of man is to move away from God. The Early Church was born of the Spirit and Baptized in the Spirit. They ministered in the Spirit and manifested the mighty gifts of the Spirit. However, even in the first century, some began to drift away from living and doing ministry in the Spirit…and began to rely on the flesh. Love is the primary attribute of the fruit of the Spirit. It is the priority commandment and is foundational and fundamental to our faith.
