Judges 15 is a fascinating chapter. It has Samson using 300 foxes and torches to destroy the crops and vineyards of the Philistines. They respond by burning his wife and father-n-law with fire. Samson takes revenge and he “attacked them hip and thigh with a great slaughter.” That is, “He attacked them viciously and slaughtered many of them.” Then, he went to the cleft of the rock at Etam. The Philistines “went up, encamped in Judah, and deployed themselves against Lehi.” 3000 men of Judah went and arrested Samson…bound him with rope and delivered him to the Philistines.That’s where our text begins…
