• NIKE (NKE) - A play on upcoming earnings. The company will report quarterly results on Thursday of next week. Analysts currently expect earnings of $0.93 per share on sales around $12.3 billion.
• DR Horton (DHI) - A play on housing. DR Horton peers in the homebuilding space, Lennar (LEN) and KB Home (KBH), reported mixed quarterly results on Wednesday afternoon. In an interesting comment during Fed Chair Jay Powell's press briefing Wednesday afternoon, he said "the housing market needs to go through a correction before getting back to normal price growth."
• Rumble (RUM) - A play on a YouTube-esque video-streaming service. This is the platform that famously welcomed Donald Trump's Truth Social Media as its first ad-supported publisher. Investors in Benzinga Pro's lounge chatroom Thursday morning discussed recent news on Rumble that social media influencer and former YouTube content creator, Steve Will Do It, will begin creating content on Rumble.
• Bed Bath & Beyond (BBBY) - A so-called meme stock. Bed Bath & Beyond will report quarterly results on Thursday of next week.
• Novavax (NVAX) - A play on pessimism about the company and stock from analysts at JP Morgan. The firm downgraded shares of Novavax to the equivalent of a sell rating Thursday morning. JP Morgan analysts attributed the downgrade to the company's concerning long-term outlook.
