Here's a revelation I caught recently.  God will sometimes assign people to our lives who are difficult to love as a part of our process of sanctification.  We are called to love our neighbors as ourselves, we are called to pray for our enemies, we are called to embody the characteristics of Christ and forgive.

It is difficult.  Nobody ever said it would be easy to choose God and kill your flesh.  But it is worth it for what you gain in return.  By being fully submitted to God and under His authority we are protected from things that we would otherwise be vulnerable to.  By honoring God through our choices and actions it strengthens our relationship with Him and allows us to better hear His voice, be led by Him and receive all that He has for us.

John Bevere's book "The Bait of Satan" and his teachings are helping to show me that one of the things we should all be praying for is to become unoffendable.  It's something that I am actively working on, when we allow others to get under our skin to the point that it causes us to act out of character we are giving the enemy the power.

Sometimes we need a reminder that we don't have to live in fear, and anxiety. We don't have to stay in cycle of feeling weary and depressed. What God desires is that we come to Him and rest in Him. 

God desires relationship. There is nothing outside of Him that has the power to deliver and redeem you. This world wants us to worship ourselves and created things over the creator, but when we need help and are in dire need...then we cry out. In this season, God is requiring more. 

If we continue elevating things that have no power over He who has all power, we will be turned over to those things, to cry out to those things instead of He who is able to keep us from falling.

Come back to the Father, come back to Jesus.

We are called to be one body of Christ. United. Brothers and Sisters in the faith. Period. Anything less, sowing discord and division amongst the body is dishonoring God. 

We cannot call ourselves Christians and not embody His character, His traits and what He desires for His Church.

I recorded this message sharing my thoughts in response to a Youtube video where Roland Martin "clapped back" against a pastor who I didn't verbally name in the episode (I couldn't remember his name when I recorded this), but it was Donnie Swaggart who admonished the "black church" for their endorsement of a presidential candidate.

My point is that the infighting amongst believers is not helpful. And it dishonors our Lord and Savior who calls us to love our neighbors as ourselves.

I'm tired of the fighting, I'm tired of the idolatry happening amongst believers who identify as Democrat or Republican over their identity as Christian. 

Both parties are manipulative and as they exist today neither are embodying biblical principles. We...though as believers have to do better. We are called to a higher standard.

Do you believe Him? Do you believe what God told you and showed you? Do you believe enough to walk in the full authority of what He has tasked you with?

Just like Peter began to sink when He took His attention off of Jesus, we begin to sink when we allow ourselves to doubt or get distracted by our self consciousness.

We have to be God conscious. There are people's lives, blessings, and salvation attached to our obedience.

As believers we have to ask ourselves if what we truly want is God, or is what we really want is a form of godliness that would allow us to straddle the fence and keep one foot in sin. God's love, forgiveness, and grace is freely given but He does require something of us in exchange. Obedience, and a conscious choice to choose a life that is alignment with His character and His word or be turned over to sin. 

We have gotten so comfortable with lukewarm Christianity, that we are offended when someone points out the fact that Jesus said "Go and sin no more", after giving forgiveness to a woman who would have otherwise been condemned. 

He who is actively practicing sin, is not in Christ though they can deceive themselves and be deceived into believing that choosing Christ doesn't mean they have to actually make changes.

Let's honor God in our faith walks through our choices and behaviors.

Challenge yourself to get into reading the Bible, start with the New Testament, read a couple of pages per day, once you've finished the New Testament, go back and start at the Old Testament and look for the ways that Jesus' coming was foretold throughout the Old Testament from the very beginning.

"To whom much is given, much is required." Luke 12:48

What kind of leader are you? Too often there are leaders who have skills and experience for a particular task but they lack the heart posture and integrity required to be an effective leader.  

In this episode I discuss aspects of servant leadership, what that should look like, and the ways that our Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ has been the blueprint and the inspiration for that term. 

I use Saul and David, in the bible as an example of a leader who failed in his role as King due to his jealousy and disobedience, over and over again as well as the way that he eventually turned on someone he initially had a heart to mentor (David). Saul ended up being rejected by God due to his mismanagement of a role he'd been given. And his jealousy over David's talents and skills led to him trying to kill him, despite David never having any negative intentions towards him. 

This dynamic plays out in corporate settings and ministries where leaders try to sabotage and stamp out the light in their subordinates instead of trying to cultivate leadership in the members of their teams.  

Take a listen, I hope it shines a light and motivates leaders and aspiring leaders to do regular check ins with themselves and with God to make sure that their leadership is in alignment with God's design, to avoid blocking their own blessings through their treatment of others.

We all have a calling.  Our primary calling as believers is the "Great Commission" as Jesus mandated after His resurrection that we go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.

We have other callings in addition to that primary calling, whether that's the elect who have been called to office within the Body of Christ, as ministry leaders, etc. or in our vocational callings.  Sometimes we can find ourselves feeling inadequate for the task we've been called to. 

This episode is meant to encourage you and serve as confirmation that God has uniquely created you for His purposes, what ever that is, He uses everything He has placed in us to qualify us for our call.  We just need to know that, and walk in that authority, of who He created us to be.  To see ourselves the way that He sees us.

There is so much happening in popular culture right now. We are just under two months away from the Presidential Election in the United States, and someone prominent in the entertainment industry has just been indicted on several horrific charges. 

How do we, as believers continue to in our day to day as evil seems to be all around us? How do we not get discouraged, or weary in our well doing?  How do we withstand the attacks of the enemy through people sent to test us on our walk with Christ?

I've shared some of the keys that God has given us in His word, for doing just that,  in this episode. Take a listen, I hope it blesses you.

A bit of encouragement to carry you through the tough times. God will allow certain challenges during our process season to shape us in preparation for where He's taking us. I mention the story of Joseph and how the things he encountered, while he was in the midst of those situations, may have caused him to wonder "Why is this happening to me?" But the things that were seemingly his lowest points in life are exactly what God used to unlock his destiny. His greatness. A future that nobody around him would have believed possible. 

Stay encouraged, God is with you.
