This week’s guest knows EXACTLY how this feels. His name is Adam Jelic. In high school, he saw himself becoming an internationally renowned soccer player. He loved soccer and was really good at it. But for a variety of reasons this dream never happened for him.
Despite this setback, he never stopped believing in himself. So one day, he eventually had the courage to step out of his comfort zone and try something new. And that ‘something’ is now an international stationery brand for ‘Goal Diggers’. Adam is the proud, yet incredibly humble Founder and Director behind Mi Goals, a Melbourne-based brand that’s helped hundreds of thousands of people around the world track and achieve their goals. How incredible is that!

We know 2020 can seem like one big blur, but do you remember that before COVID-19, Australia was experiencing an unprecedented bushfire season this time, last year?! It ran for so many months and the devastation was so destructive that it’s widely known as Black Summer.
Over 18 million hectares burned, destroying over 5,900 buildings, including over 2,800 homes. In addition to human fatalities, many millions of wildlife sadly perished, including over 5,000 koalas within NSW alone – a third of that state’s koala population.
The Australian economy also suffered tremendously costing the nation billions of dollars in losses, not to mention the regions that fell victim to the bushfires – they were hardest hit.
Now here’s the good news. We all have the ability to create a positive change and play our part to restore our economy and help rebuild these beautiful towns and the livelihoods of those affected by the bushfires. And leading the way is one amazing human, Erin Boutros, Co-Founder and Managing Director of Empty Esky.
In case you didn’t know, Empty Esky is a national tourism movement of foodies and adventurers on a mission to support small businesses affected by the Australian fires. They’re on a mission to encourage everyone to grab an Empty Esky, embark on a road trip to a fire-affected town (when it’s safe to do so) and to stock up with produce and product purchased from local traders.
The story behind Empty Esky’s launch and massive growth is SO inspiring. They get to work with some of the world’s most recognisable brands to help spread their mission and vision.
It’s an awesome not-for-profit and run by a small team of volunteers and so we’re super excited that Erin (who also happens to be a Happow ambassador) is joining Gianna for our 2nd last episode of season 1!

Michelle Akhidenor, 20-something marketer and entrepreneur knows a thing or two about podcasting. After graduating high school in 2012, she has accomplished A LOT.
Most notably she’s the Founder and CEO at The Peers Project, a podcast production agency for progressive brands. She and her team have created podcasts for the likes of Forever New, Modibodi and even Little Dreamers, who we also collaborated with to create a Happow Life Lesson called Start A Business With Impact.

It all started when she made her first global podcast called Peers2Peers, where she continues to chat with loads of millennial entrepreneurs achieving BIG goals around the world, including Tedx speakers and those featured in Forbes 30 Under 30.

What if we told you you’re never too young to achieve your dreams. Now you’re probably thinking, as if! Well we have proof for you. Meet multi-award winning social entrepreneur Wil Massara from Perth, WA. He, like us, at Happow believes you’re never too young to change the world.
In 2018, whilst in high school, Wil launched Youth Leadership Academy Australia (YLAA) with the mission to empower youth through events and more. Wil’s first leadership conference was held in February 2018, which led him to speak at a youth conference in Hawaii. Wil’s entrepreneurial journey started at the age of 13. There’s quite a lot of layers to Wil’s story and a few surprises too.
Wil has now taken Youth Leadership Academy Australia nationwide hosting and facilitating events, school programs and community engagement initiatives positively impacting over 5000 students, from 125 schools, in 5 states, which is expected to rise to beyond 100,000 by 2022.
This again proves that age is NO factor when setting and kicking goals. Got a dream you’d like to achieve, in the words of Nike, ‘Just Do It.’

Our epic guest this week, Madeleine Buchner has been on a mission to positively change the lives of young carers across Australia and around the world as the Founder and CEO of Little Dreamers, a not-for-profit based in Melbourne, Australia.
Maddy has achieved and experienced A LOT in her young life. Though she’s had her fair share of ups and downs, what we love about Maddy is her positive, go-getter attitude.
Like so many of us, Maddy experiences anxiety and imposter syndrome, however, this has never stopped her from achieving her dreams. She still shows up and faces challenges head-on. And because of her unwavering passion and persistence, she was a part of the Queen’s Young Leader program in 2017 and in 2019 was the youngest person to receive an Order of Australia Medal within the Australian honours list that year.
In this interview with Gianna, Maddy was honest and upfront about her triumphs and her trials over the years and explains how and why she’s able to push through.
Gianna and Maddy chat about that time she met Prince Harry, Queen Elizabeth II and Liam Payne all in one day! They also chat about her goals for Little Dreamers and loads more.

Mindfulness…it’s a strong contender for ‘Word of the Year’ in 2020! One of the things this global pandemic has done is force our entire society to slow down and be more mindful.
