  • Law and Order

On this episode of Powered by Authenticity, I am joined by Laura Klaussner, Attorney with Peterson Law Group, PLLC.

The field of law has interesting statistics when it comes to gender equity; only 37% of attorney's are females while over 50% of law students are women. Here, we address that statistic along with what it's like to be the first female attorney at her practice.

Thank you, Laura, it was great speaking with you and THANK YOU for sharing your story ...you are truly a remarkable, empowered female and I'm positive everyone will love this conversation as much as I did!

  • It’s not YOUR fault

November 25th is White Ribbon Day and in this episode of Powered by Authenticity I am joined by Rebecca Phelps to discuss her survival of domestic violence. Here, we also discuss the importance of educating young girls on protecting themselves against being in an abusive relationship.

If we are going to continue to drive equity for women, a portion of this passion needs focus on helping women who are victims of violence. There are more women hurt in a domestic violence incident than in car accidents annually*.

  • The Diamonds in the Crown

I was thrilled to have Amanda Fadely join me on our newest episode of Powered by Authenticity.

Amanda is a prominent leader in the Aerospace industry and talks about her passion for, both, the industry and driving gender equity and inclusion within it.

To quote Amanda, "Stars, Exploration and Technology are my passion" and that shines through in our discussion about following your passion and dreams regardless of often being the only woman in the room.

This conversation left us with such a renewed passion of following your dreams and the importance of driving equity to power innovation.

Thank you, Amanda! This was such an interesting and inspiring conversation.

  • And Bob’s Your Dunkle

In this episode, I am joined by Kaity Neideck and Abi Lloyd Bertrand Brew Master's for South River Brewing Co in South River, Ontario. The brewing industry is one of the most under-represented for female careers; despite women being the, initial, brewers, this industry is now dominated by males.

It is so interesting to listen to their stories about finding a career in brewing in their small community (South River's population was reported at 1101 in 2021). And, just like many other careers, Katy and Ali found their positions through networking and taking a chance on themselves. Katy may even quote her 'pops' in this episode!!

During our chat we also heard that this brewery is, actually, mostly run by females! We LOVED hearing this and seeing such a great representation in this community.

I hope you will enjoy this conversation as much as we did! So, grab a pint and listen to these two amazing women who are doing great things in a male dominated industry.

Thank you to South River for having us. We loved this conversation and, hey, even Tipsy the brewery dog is a female!!
