In this episode of The Book Fix, Yajaira and Cheli review "Powerful" by Lauren Roberts, which is the 1.5 to the popular book, "Powerless". This is a story centered on Adena, a young woman surviving in the slums, and Makoto, a gruff and mysterious figure who shows up in her shop with a proposition for her. Adena’s best friend, Paedyn, is called to compete in the deadly Purging, and Adena is struggling to survive without her. The unlikely duo forms a reluctant partnership. Adena’s optimistic, sunshine personality contrasts sharply with Makoto’s grumpiness, adding tension and intrigue to their interactions.
