In this episode of the PowerHouse Podcast, we talk about the kind of forgiveness that doesn’t just cover sin — it restores identity.
Many people live trapped between regret and self-condemnation. But there is a difference between conviction and condemnation… and knowing that difference can change everything.
📖 2 Corinthians 7:10
“Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret, but worldly sorrow brings death.”
Worldly sorrow keeps you stuck in shame and self-hatred.
Godly sorrow is honest — but hopeful. It leads you back to life.
The enemy is called the accuser for a reason.
📖 Revelation 12:10
Satan is described as “the accuser… who accuses them day and night.”
Accusation repeats your past to keep you trapped in it.
But God corrects without crushing.
📖 2 Timothy 1:7
“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind.”
If the voice you’re hearing pulls you away from God in fear and shame, that’s not Him.
A simple test:
Does this voice move me closer to God or farther away?
• Closer → conviction
• Farther → condemnation
God delights in mercy.
📖 Micah 7:18–19
“You do not stay angry forever but delight to show mercy… You will hurl all our iniquities into the depths of the sea.”
Not placed on the shoreline to stare at — thrown away.
We also walk through the powerful story of Peter — a man who publicly denied Jesus three times.
📖 Luke 22:61–62 — Peter wept bitterly after his failure.
📖 John 21:15–17 — Jesus restored him personally.
Three denials.
Three restorations.
Jesus did not define Peter by his worst moment. He recalled him to his calling.
Failure isn’t final with God.
Shame isn’t how He leads you forward.
Restoration often happens in the very place you fell.
📖 Psalm 34:18
“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted…”
📖 Romans 8:38–39
Nothing — not your past, not your mistakes, not your worst moment — can separate you from the love of God in Christ Jesus.
If you’ve been wrestling with self-condemnation, this episode will help you untangle accusation from truth and step back into the freedom of being fully forgiven.
You were not created to live crushed.
You were created to live restored.
